JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking an experienced, high caliber Field Clinical Engineer II. Working under general supervision, is primarily responsible for field support of Clinical Research (focus on CATD clinical research), accurate technical service/troubleshooting, collaborating with Sales representatives to develop business in the local territory, providing general field support to other departments, and serving as a technical conduit between customers and CATD and IESD.

Impact this role will have on Abbott:

  • Application of theoretical principles and creative/analytical techniques, as well as, requires technical judgement in planning, organizing, performing, and directing in all parts of the job

  • Coordinate field support of Investigational Device Exemption (IDE), Post Approval Study (PAS), and Post Market Study (PMS) in assigned territory, including identifying potential, attendance in procedures/follow ups, facility and investigator training, accountability for study progress, computer and technical competency, and all areas of corporate leadership

Your experience(s), education and knowledge will further expand Abbott’s marketplace success:

  • Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering or related field

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience includes cardiology, electro-physiology, or working with Implantable Cardiac Defibrillators (ICDs), pacemakers, or cardiac electro-physiology procedures

  • Experience in electrophysiology and experience with Electrophysiology procedures, Ablation procedures and Advanced mapping techniques

  • Broad cross-disciplinary and in-depth knowledge of the clinical engineering profession

  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment

  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment

  • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects

  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization

  • Excellent Written and Verbal Communication skills

  • Knowledge of Computer software and other skills

  • Proven ability to multi-task and perform successfully in a diverse cross functional team environment

Your preferred qualifications and education:

  • Experience in cardiology, electrophysiology, industry, cath lab, or research, preferred
