Culinary Degree preferred or a minimum of 4+ years of cooking experience required. Illinois Sanitation certificate required.
Knowledge of how to prepare soups, sauces, entrees for a multi -volume operation. Quality food production (250+) and extensive knowledge in executive catering. This includes: following recipes, usage of leftovers and reduction of waste, controlling inventory on hand and adjusting orders. Extensive knowledge of all types of foodservice equipment.
Proven ability in ordering and production. Strong knowledge of the GFS ordering system and the ability to order from multiple suppliers.
Ability to work in a fast paced team environment.
Strong communication and independent driven leadership skills required. The ability to direct co-workers and display excellent guest service skills. Proactive team player, flexible with strong organizational / leadership skills.
Excellent work and attendance record.
Self-motivated and works well within a team oriented concept. Ability to adapt to change in a positive manner
Takes action that goes beyond job requirements in order to achieve objectives. Looks for ways to improve efficiencies and reduce costs.
Builds relationships by helping others feel valued, appreciated and included in discussions.
Cross trained in catering and cash handling is preferred.
Some overtime may be required.
