The Australian Nutritional business is in growth and looking for a strong and driven Regional Sales Manager, based in Sydney or Melbourne. We are looking for a top-notch sales professional to drive our rapidly growing Nutrition portfolio in the retail Pharmacy channel. As it is a new role heading up our new National Pharmacy team, you will be able to make it your own and really put your stamp on the business.

You will be managing our new Australian National Retail Pharmacy sales team taking responsibility for driving the national sales targets of the Australian Pharmacy sector developing and executing a sales strategy to deliver against the commercial strategy of the Division. You will be responsible for recruiting, managing and developing a high performing pharmacy sales team.

The main aspects of this role include:

  • Ensure a customer oriented culture within the team and within the affiliate, document and share field insights and knowledge with the business.

  • Business analysis to develop sales plans including measurable goals, tactics & resource allocation and ensure sales plan execution.

  • Empower and mentor the team to develop profitable commercial policy and value proposition execution, ensuring they are able to sell the value proposition and demonstrate to their customers the value of strategic engagement with Abbott nutrition.

  • Negotiate with smaller chains or independent small buying groups and deliver profitable sales results.

  • Develop and maintain a positive mindset and a culture of accountability that rewards those that drive business results.

  • Provide objective, constructive performance feedback and coaching for individual and team development.

  • Conduct annual performance appraisals, soliciting input from Management and Marketing.

  • Ensure the ROI of activities and provide regular feed-back to Management and Marketing, monitor KPIs to evaluate Team's performance

In addition to the above, the relevant experience is required:

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities

  • Selling and Negotiation skills.

  • Analytical skills

  • Forecasting skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Exceptional organisation and planning ability

  • Works effectively in a team environment

  • Strong experience in Pharmacy essential

  • 7+ years of commercial/sales experience that involved working closely with customers to deliver results.

  • Minimum 2+ years sales management experience, with demonstrated success in leading, motivating, coaching and developing people.

  • Experience in fast moving consumer health care (OTC), Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and/or Retail preferred.

Required Knowledge/Education:

  • Bachelor degree (or equivalent); Business degree preferable

  • Industry Knowledge of Australian Pharmacy channel.

  • Have taken transfer sales orders and managed teams which took sales orders and negotiated deals and contracts.
