JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Description:

The Senior Global IT Auditor is responsible for conducting Information Systems audits of critical systems and infrastructure throughout Abbott’s international and domestic organizations and formulating recommendations for improvements in operating performance and controls. Auditors will spend 24-36 months on the Corporate Audit staff in this career development role before moving on to other challenging opportunities within the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute Information Systems audits throughout Abbott's international and domestic organizations

  • Participate in the IT risk assessment process and development of the audit plan for assigned entities

  • Coordinate execution of IT audit plans to optimize audit speed and effectiveness

  • Prepare and present audit findings to senior management

  • POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum three to five years of work experience obtained with a top-tier consulting or public accounting firm required

  • Experience in one of the following two areas required:

  • Execution of Information Systems audits, including Application, Platform (AS400, UNIX, Windows) or General IT Controls; or

  • Implementation of large-scale ERP packages, including SAP, Oracle and other similar systems

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required

  • 20-50% travel to Abbott's International and Domestic locations required

  • Technical experience with SAP (Purchase to Pay, Order to Cash) and/or various other financial and business critical applications preferred

  • Manufacturing and/or international business experience desirable

  • Foreign language skills and/or professional certification (CISA, CPA, MBA) are a plus

Minimum Education:

This position requires a Bachelor's Degree from a four year college or university. A graduate degree is desirable.

Minimum Experience / Training Required:

The incumbent should have at least three - five years of related work experience. Part of the experience would have been obtained from employment with a major public accounting/consultant firm or law firm specializing in consulting engagements related to healthcare compliance, healthcare institution revenue cycles, government reimbursement mechanisms, and/or pharmaceutical or hospital products sales & marketing programs. Specifically, the incumbent should have broad experience with the general healthcare industry including Medicare/Medicaid and/or other sales & marketing compliance matters. It is also desirable that the incumbent be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Other Attributes:

  1. Familiarity with financial and operational auditing procedures. General knowledge and understanding of computer-assisted audit techniques to assist in compliance auditing programs.

  2. Excellent time management and project management skills and the ability to work effectively with people at all levels on a one-to-one basis.

  3. Strong interpersonal and written and oral communication skills.
