The Quality Systems Supervisor is responsible for maintaining and improving all functions of the Documents and Batch Records groups. This position is responsible for final release of product to market and assuring batches meet applicable regulations and division standards, as well as the entire document control function.
The Quality Systems Supervisor is responsible for resolving issues related to workorder, processing, filling and release of products.
The Supervisor oversees the Batch Record and/or Documents function, and is responsible for managing work schedules, budgeting overtime, communicating issues to logistics and production planning that may lead to late product releases, and overseeing the functions for the following 2 areas:
Manage the audit and release of domestic and export product to market and ensure timely batch release.
Manages and maintains the Quality Hold Program.
Supports the CAPA process for all nonconformances generated in the process of manufacturing product.
Tack, trend and maintain all quality measures of the performance of the Plant.
Report information to appropriate groups on a timely basis and implement/support corrective actions as necessary to improve performance.
Assuring that change control is maintained on all controlled documents and systems within the plant.
Coordinating documentation and implementation of all new product launches and responsible for the batch calculation summary program and the work order system.
Assure that procedure content is current.
Resolve issues related to workorders, processing and filling of batches.
This position directly impacts the plant's financial goals for releasing product to market and meeting product launches and schedules.
The QS Supervisor is responsible for meeting departmental budgets (including overtime) and there are 5 non-exempts reporting to this individual.
This individual acts on behalf of Quality Systems when the Quality Systems Manager is absent and is able to perform functions of both a Batch Records and Documents Supervisor.
This position has accountability for payroll and expenses exceeding $1MM.
Bachelor's degree required. The incumbent must effectively communicate with all plant manufacturing groups, Plant Quality Assurance groups, Plant Management, Division Quality Assurance, Logistics, Material Control, PR&D groups, Research Services, and Process Authority on technical subjects effecting product quality, plant operations, and documentation. The incumbent must have good written and verbal communication skills. They must possess strengths in the Abbott core competencies. This individual must have good organizational skills and be able to multi- task, drive for results and make sound business decisions independently. The individual should have 2 -5 years of relevant experience in Quality Assurance and/or Manufacturing plus 2 years Supervisory experience. Some technical knowledge/experience is preferred, especially in the area of processing, statistics, aseptics, chemistry, and microbiology. A good working knowledge of Low Acid Food Regulations, Infant Formula Regulations, Division Policies and manufacturing and distribution of the products is a must.
