Working under general direction and as part of a national team of area based Advanced Clinical EP Specialists, provides clinical leadership across the sales area by developing, evaluating, coaching, and building EP clinical competence within the area.

Responds to more complex field inquiries from physicians, health care professionals, patients, and field sales staff, involving EP products.

Performs work that involves a high degree of independence and will be perceived as a proven leader/mentor in the area.

Identifies and routinely uses the most effective, cost efficient and best business practices to execute processes; continually evaluates their effectiveness and appropriateness.

Exercises independent judgment in planning, organizing and performing work; monitors performance and reports status to manager.

Essential Functions:

  1. Acts as the area’s senior most clinical EP resource, responsible for developing talent in EP clinical competence and leadership across both clinical and sales teams.

  2. Demonstrates a thorough command of all EP capital and disposable products, including the EnSite System related product and technical knowledge, cardiac mapping and ablation techniques, trends, and competitive technologies. 3. Provides insight, guidance, and feedback to management on market feedback and components of next generation of products.

  5. Customized Education Visits/Physician Feedback Sessions in regional training centers

  6. Regional training seminars

  7. Clinical studies/data collection

  8. Trouble Shooting

  9. New product in-service training to physicians, nurses and sales representatives.

  • Mentors and provides leadership to EP clinical support teams including FCEs and EP TSSs

  • Continuously develops engineering, sales and technical skills relative to the overall Arrhythmia Management strategy, including learning opportunities via Sr. Sales personnel and FCEs.

  • Partners with marketing organization to develop marketing data and resources to be used for employee and customer education.

Other Duties:

Assists Training and Education departments with advanced educational seminars, and the preparation of educational materials.

Assists Sales with advanced product demonstrations to visiting physicians and sales personnel.

Assists Research and Development with projects focused on new product development, testing, validation, and collecting physician feedback.

Remains current on developments in field(s) of expertise, regulatory requirements, and a good working knowledge of company and competitor products, markets, and objectives as well as industry trends.

Resolves and/or facilitates resolution of problems including identifying causes to prevent re-occurrence.

Performs related functions and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.

Qualifications Accountability/Supervision:

Working under general direction, is accountable for providing training, development and mentorship of EP resources within the Area. Performs work that involves a high degree of independence. Work is reviewed upon milestones and upon completion for soundness of judgment and overall adequacy/accuracy. Contributions affect team/organization results. Performs assignments of moderate complexity, resolves difficult scientific/technical problems using intellectual capabilities, ingenuity and advanced scientific principles; completes reports and makes oral presentations; consistent use of independent judgment. May contribute to the development of department policies/procedures/practices. Relationships: Internal: Interfaces with national EP Clinical Development Manager, other Advanced EP Clinical Specialist, other EP Technical Services Specialists, FCEs and with Training, Sales, Marketing and related departments. May participate on one or more teams; may provide work direction or guidance to other employees. May mentor less experienced employees. External: Interacts with hospitals, physicians, nurses, other health care professionals, patients and field sales staff members. Equipment: Works with standard office equipment such as telephone, fax machine, copier, and a personal computer with standard office software. Uses digital and analog projectors and other training aids, plus Company products, in conducting educational programs. In addition, operates motor vehicle to meet clients in their various work or home environments, as required. Working Conditions: Works part of time at a desk in a will-lighted, air-conditioned office, with minimal noise levels, but when in field, can encounter a variety of environmental conditions, such as extreme heat, cold, humidity, rain, snow, ice, and related in response to a client request. Automobiles utilized are, as necessary, heated or air-conditioned. Physical Demands: Activities require a significant amount of sitting, walking and standing relative to interaction with other Company personnel and outside clients. Significant use of hands and arms, plus finger dexterity to reach, point, write, type, operate a computer and other office and training equipment. Significant use of voice and hearing for meetings, discussions, training activities and related. Requires clear vision (correctable), and while using automobile, use of legs and feet, plus good eye/hand/foot coordination. Lifting and/or force requirements are usually negligible, but may be required to lift projectors and other visual aids on occasion. These latter devices do not generally exceed 20 pounds. Required: Bachelor’s degree in Bio-Medical Engineering or related field required. Requires EP Product, EnSite NavX/Precision certification. A minimum of five plus years in a clinical role and/or increasingly responsible experience in the cardiac pacing and related industries. Prior experience with coaching, development, and education of clinical resources in cardiac business preferred. Familiarity with cath lab and operating room procedures and protocol. Demonstrated advanced knowledge of cardiac pacing systems is also necessary. Must apply engineering skills and abilities to interpret and solve complex pacing ECG’s. Must have comprehensive written and verbal communication, interpersonal, presentation, analytical, organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines. Must have the ability to concentrate on detail and work independently. Must be able to work effectively with engineers, technical specialists, vendors, and customers to achieve assigned goals; must be capable of coordinating multiple assignments simultaneously and effectively. Must possess comprehensive personal computer skills (experience with Microsoft Office or equivalent required) in graphics, word-processing, databases, authoring programs, etc., to develop presentation materials.
