Job Summary: Briefly state the main purpose and scope of the job.
Working under general direction, provides advanced engineering, sales, educational and technical support in response to more complex field inquiries from physicians, health care professionals, patients, and field sales staff, involving both AF and CRM products. Performs work that involves a high degree of independence. Identifies and routinely uses the most effective, cost efficient and best business practices to execute processes; continually evaluates their effectiveness and appropriateness. Exercises independent judgment in planning, organizing and performing work; monitors performance and reports status to manager.

Acts as a senior technical interface between the medical community and the assigned regional office.
Provides engineering, sales, and technical support in response to the most complex field inquiries on a 24-hour, on-call basis. Demonstrates a thorough command of all CRM and AF products, including the EnSite System related product and technical knowledge, cardiac mapping and ablation techniques, trends and player.
Provides insight, guidance, and feedback to management on market feedback and components of next generation of products
Provides regional CRM implant and AF procedural case coverage § Provides additional back-up support to CRM and AF Sales Representatives in the following areas:
Regional training seminars
Clinical studies/data collection
New product in-service training to physicians, nurses and sales representatives.
Mentors and provides leadership for less experienced EP TSSs and CRM TSSs.
Coordinates AF case coverage with supervisor and FCEs.
Continuously develops engineering, sales and technical skills relative to the overall Arrhythmia Management strategy, including learning opportunities via Sr. Sales personnel and FCEs.
Assists Training and Education departments with advanced educational seminars, and the preparation of educational materials.
Assists Sales with advanced product demonstrations to visiting physicians and sales personnel.
Remains current on developments in field(s) of expertise, regulatory requirements, and a good working knowledge of company and competitor products, markets, and objectives as well as industry trends.
Resolves and/or facilitates resolution of problems including identifying causes to prevent re-occurrence
Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.
Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.

Working Conditions: Describe the work environment characteristics representative of those encountered by an employee performing the essential functions of this job. Work environment varies from well lighted office/cubicle, low to moderate noise level, to a variety of conditions caused by travel requirements such as customer offices, research labs, hospitals, hotels, use of automobiles, commercial travel, weather, etc.
Physical Demands: Describe the physical demands representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Activities require a significant amount of sitting in front of a computer monitor, some standing and walking. Significant use of hands and arms, plus finger dexterity to reach, point, write, type, operate a computer and other office equipment. Performs tasks that regularly require good correctable vision and hand/eye coordination. Activities also require significant use of voice and hearing for discussions with other employees.
Qualifications: Describe the minimum education and experience, including knowledge, skills and abilities, required to successfully perform the job. List any certificates, license, and/or registrations required.
Bachelor’s degree in Bio-Medical Engineering or related field required.
Requires IBHRE Pacing and EP certification.
Requires SJM Brady, Tachy, CRT, Ensite, and EP certification within 6 months of hire date, or to be promoted must already have all required certifications.
A minimum of five plus years increasingly responsible experience in the cardiac pacing and related industries.
Demonstrated knowledge of cardiology, electro-physiology, or cardiac electro-physiology procedures.
Familiarity with cath lab and operating room procedures and protocol.
Demonstrated advanced knowledge of cardiac pacing systems is also necessary.
Must apply engineering skills and abilities to interpret and solve complex pacing ECG’s.
Must have comprehensive written and verbal communication, interpersonal, presentation, analytical, organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
Must have the ability to concentrate on detail and work independently.
Must be able to work effectively with engineers, technical specialists, vendors, and customers to achieve assigned goals; must be capable of coordinating multiple assignments simultaneously and effectively.
Must possess comprehensive personal computer skills (experience with Microsoft Office or equivalent required) in graphics, word-processing, databases, authoring programs, etc., to develop presentation materials. Placement into this position requires written approval by the Area Vice President (AVP).
Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.
Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
