Creating and meeting of short and long-term business goals to support our customers and business requirements through: Management of planning activities. Sets strategic direction for the production planning team and leads key supply chain strategic and tactical initiatives. The organization achieves this through balancing numerous conflicts and constantly changing elements, e.g. customer demand, inventory investment, production capabilities, changing business needs and strategies, regulatory requirements, technology changes and supplier capabilities.
Manages the development of production plans to support end customer sales, supply chain efficiencies, and strategic initiatives.
Manages finished goods inventory levels and safety stocks in support of end customer sales at the desired service levels, while maintaining the lowest inventory investment possible.
Provides short/long term production plans for capacity analysis to enhance decisions related to headcount, key equipment and/or facility investments.
Consolidates, reviews, and approves information required for monthly S&OP plans and updates; presents to senior management.
Manages the introduction of new products to ensure a flexible strategy is maintained.
Coordinate plans with R&D/Manufacturing/Marketing to ensure adequate inventory levels are reached prior to Market entry.
Communicates with senior Abbott management and peers across Supply Chain and Commercial organizations.
Manages resources, provides direction to staff, approves broad staffing decisions and develops the organization to ensure effectiveness.
Develops and tracks goals and objectives to assure annual improvements in operational performance, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
Develops strategic improvement initiatives to meet long-range goals; assure implementation of these initiatives.
Sets strategic and tactical direction for the production planning team to support business plans.
Supervisory / Management Responsibilities:

This position operates with only general direction and minimal supervision. Has full responsibility to make decisions, which fully impact the direction provided by upper management to ensure timely accomplishment of goals.
High degree of business judgment, interpersonal and communication skills with multiple functions, divisions, areas and business units is required to successfully perform this role.
Position requires multiple short/long-term production decisions that directly influence production efficiencies and output, customer service level and investment objectives (i.e. maintain product availability to end-customer and affiliates at the highest possible level while managing inventory to the lowest investment levels and maximizing manufacturing efficiencies). Position acts as a central focus to bring together various functional groups to help resolve any production issues or problems (i.e. potential line shut downs, fill priority backorders, etc).
The ANSC Production Planning Team is accountable for directing/planning:
a) $1.3B in U.S. Plant Throughput
b) $280MM+ in Average Monthly Inventory Investment
c) $2.9B in Net Sales Supported
Bachelor's Degree: Business, Management, Science or Engineering disciplines preferred
Prior management experience required, preferably in one or more of the following areas: Materials Management, Manufacturing, or Planning
Total combined minimum years of experience required: 5 years
