PRIMARY FUNCTION / PRIMARY GOALS / OBJECTIVES:
Leads and directs all in-market activities for the Ensure product line(s) or business.
Responsible for the development, management, and execution of strategies and tactical programs to effectively achieve commercialization, profit margin, and business plan objectives.
Directs and supervises a staff including one or more Brand Managers, Associate Brand Managers.
Additional responsibilities annual business planning, financial forecasting and reporting, Advertising Promotions & Gratis (AP&G) budget management, and project management.
Responsible for directing all in-market activity associated with multiple product lines and/or a significant business or product line.
Drive retail product positioning and competitive selling strategies for the brand, as well as provide leadership in achieving the committed market share, revenue, and margin of the product.
Direct the forecasting and analysis of the ongoing business, report monthly results on the brand, and oversee the identification of key segment business drivers, priorities, and growth opportunities. Develop and provide strategic commercial input to the development of the assigned products or product line.
Establish marketing strategies for the brand, including pricing strategy, distribution channel management, sales development, as well as tactical plan development and execution.
Manage, optimize, and report on the marketing budget and its allocation to maximize business value. Lead the strategic recommendations for PediaSure’s optimal marketing mix and ROI for the brand.
Partner with Field Sales to manage the retail portfolio, including promotional investment activities to effectively communicate the strategic positioning to retailers and deliver growth commitments.
Manage the development of marketing and sales/promotional materials for Field Sales to effectively promote and sell the product. Coordinate trade materials to reinforce product branding and messaging.
Partner with HCP marketing to lead strategy & execution of in-office consumer marketing, including WIC.
Participate in the development of business plans, identify areas of concern and modify marketing programs to address changes in the marketplace.
Present product and marketing programs to Sr. Management.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve objectives. These groups include external customers and consumers, Field Sales, R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, Logistics, Public Affairs, Marketing and Executive Management and external vendors or agencies.
ACCOUNTABILITY / SCOPE / BUDGET:
Commercial Marketing: Responsible for multiple product lines and/or a significant business or product line. Incumbent is accountable for managing the existing retail product line including P&L and Marketing Budget. Responsible for execution of strategies that will affect attainment of Business Unit and Division financial goals and objectives.
7-10 years of progressively responsible product management experience in either health care/OTC marketing; or consumer packaged goods marketing; or a combination of the two.
Financial and budget management experience and skills.
Demonstrated effective leadership competencies.
Proven ability to develop and execute complex strategic business plans.
Strong analytical skills including experience with financial models.
Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards and requirements for nutritionals.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to attain business objectives.
- Education Requirements: BA/BS Degree in Marketing. MBA strongly preferred due to the business complexity and P&L responsibility of the position.
