Leads projects. Provides technical review, direction, and feedback to others. Conducts advanced research.
Designs and conducts experiments, accomplishes established milestones and summarizes data, interprets, results and draws conclusions.
Evaluates data using analytical methodologies to achieve results.
Recommends options for future experiments.
Presents scientific observations to others.
Trains lower-level scientists.
Expertise and Problem Solving: Identifies technical alternatives.
Utilizes multiple analytical instruments.
Anticipates, recognizes and resolves technical problems.
Understands machine language (e.g. Python, R, Java or similar)
Evaluate instrument operation, identify predictive failures, and generate appropriate algorithms based on reliability/statistical data
Project Planning: Participates in project planning, updates and process improvements.
Implements project plans comprehending resource, budget, facility and regulatory requirements.
Translates top-level goals to specific project level goals for individual team member.
Establishes and reviews complex plans for multiple projects or activities.
Plans resource allocation and distribution.
Lab Safety: Participates in lab safety.
Documentation: Appropriately documents experimental procedures and results according to established guidelines.
Across functional areas/programs within division.
Contributes to project plan.
Responsible for project completion.
Ph.D. plus 2 years of research or industrial experience or B.S./M.S. with equivalency*.
*Equivalency to Ph.D. defines as ability to hypothesize, design own experiments, draw conclusions and provide direction. Basic Computer Skills. Advanced Knowledge of multiple analytical instruments.
