Works independently to provide production planning/scheduling, inventory management, or distribution support to maintain production operations and customer product availability. Analyze forecasts and initiate appropriate action to support production plan or independent demands. Schedule manufacturing operation to ensure availability of items under planners control with minimum negative impact on manufacturing. Ensure finished goods availability by loading forecasts and demand to meet these requirements. Properly allocate product to all areas of the world. Diagnose manufacturing and QC testing problems to minimize interruption to production. Perform system maintenance and updates to insure database integrity for planning fields and files. Manage material flow from external and internal suppliers though manufacturing channels to achieve maximum production efficiency, minimizing waste and impacts to customers. Provides direction to internal and external personnel regarding planning and commitment to schedules, system applications and performance reporting. May perform other duties as assigned.

Accountable for the accuracy and the impact of planning decisions.
Can commit inventory dollars for items under their control MRR Level One sign off authority; level Two in the absence of manager; manufacturing documentation sign off authority; i.e.; change requests; PBOM's and material specifications.
Operates independently with minimal supervision.
Production schedule changes rarely reviewed by management.
Those that are take the form of a discussion to determine what is best suited for the situation at hand.
Approval of release of material to the production facility and control WlP & FG inventory to targeted levels.
Bachelors Degree: Business, Operations / Supply Chain Management, Finance, Science or Engineering disciplines preferred or 5+ years of experience relevant to Production Planning or Materials Management. This education is preferred as the candidate needs to have a firm understanding of manufacturing, business and commercial elements to create a process that works across several functional areas.
>A thorough understanding of MRP/DRP planning systems, JDA, Cognos, and Microsoft Office is preferred.
>Practical knowledge and experience with S&OP Processes, Demand Management and Supply Planning is needed.
>Need strong communication and teamwork skills to build and maintain good working relationships with many functional areas (Commercial, Finance, IT, QA, RA, Mfg, Supply Chain, etc...)
>Self motivated leader with highly developed interpersonal skills. Candidate must be skilled at indirectly influencing and managing others.
>Strong analytical skills are critical for forecast / demand file reviews, safety stock analysis, financial schedule development, coordination of demand and supply plans, and developing monthly summaries.
>Highly developed and effective written and oral communication skills are required to facilitate information flow across internal and external supply chain customers.
>Negotiation and conflict resolution skills are required to ensure timely and effective solutions to demand and inventory management issues.
>Innovative skills and initiative to identify and implement business process improvements.
>Excellent organizational and follow-up skills are critical to balance numerous priorities, activities, and communication needs.
