Abbott has six manufacturing facilities located in Clonmel, Cootehill, Donegal, Longford and Sligo and a third party manufacturing management operation in Sligo. It has commercial, support operations and shared services in Dublin. Abbott serves the Irish market with a diverse range of health care products including diagnostics, medical devices, nutritionals and branded generic pharmaceuticals. Abbott has been operating in Ireland since 1946.

Job Description

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Accounts Payable Duties:

  • Transaction processing, query handling and provision of accounts payable information. This will involve:

  • Registering of Invoices

  • Processing of Invoices

  • Issue Resolution

  • Payments Processing

  • Supplier Reconciliations

  • Work with AN AP team members to overcome any issues in invoice processing.

  • Filing and Archiving documents to send to local market

  • Ensure that all transactions are recorded and documented in compliance with current procedures.

  • Assist in ensuring accurate and timely month end close and corporate reporting.

Develop & Maintain Good Working Relationships:

  • Develop & maintain good working relationships within the Shared Services Centre & local markets to ensure optimum business performance.

  • Work closely with colleagues to review and resolve ongoing issues.

Ensuring the integrity of internal financial controls:

  • Ensure that all corporate internal policies are followed.

Develop knowledge of the markets serviced by the Accounts Payable team:

  • Participate in cross-training for different markets/entities within the Accounts Payable team to enable sufficient cover across the team.

  • Cover for these markets as necessary during the course of business.

  • Engage with management/colleagues to ensure process improvements are consistently sought across the AP function.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience:

  • Accounts Payable or T&E experience

  • Excel/AS400 knowledge is an advantage but not essential

Essential Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities in English

  • Customer focused

  • Good analytical skills

  • Proactive nature

  • Knowledge of Excel, Word & Outlook
