Abbott Brand Manager in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam



This position will be responsible for planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with sales, marketing and other support functions to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.

Key Marketing Competencies

1. Marketing Tactics

  • Define brand components, including brand essence, values, position, and key messages

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of key drivers and decision-making factors in the target audience

  • Lead execution of marketing initiatives for your product or area of focus

  • Develop marketing plans based on information about consumers, competitors, and channels

  • Measure the effectiveness of marketing initiatives by using appropriate data

  • Prepare updates and reports for senior management

2. Professional Marketing

  • Work collaboratively with the sales organization to gain a thorough understanding of its needs and constraints

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of continuing medical education programs

  • Develop relationships with key opinion leaders

  • Identify associations, speakers, symposia, advocacy groups, and grants associated with the brand

  • Ensure sales materials support the strategic direction of the brand

3. Consumer Marketing (Apply for OTC/OTx brands)

  • Develop marketing plan with understand of the basic elements of consumer psychology in different channels, such as broadcast, telemarketing, Internet and patient education

  • Apply mass marketing and relationship marketing in reaching consumers

4. Marketing Budget

  • Manage budget and forecast

5. Understand the Business Environment

  • Stay updated on treatment guidelines and major classes of agents including their benefits and side effects for your therapeutic area

  • Collect and track relevant competitor information, including brand strengths and weaknesses, share, go-to-market strategy, pricing strategy, programs, and points of differentiation

  • Using understand on how to market your brand within managed markets and how to manage care and payor organizations (medical and pharmacy) to effectively execute marketing plans

6. Statistics and Research

  • Comprehend primary and secondary research designs

  • Segment markets and patients according to market research findings


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administrations or Economics preferred

  • At least 2-year experience at the same position

  • Possess the following competencies: adaptability, integrity, teamwork and innovation

  • Fluent in English and Vietnam

  • Proficient skills in MS Office

  • Quick, enthusiastic, able to work in team environment and independently
