Primary Function / Primary Goals / Objectives:
This position is responsible for leading day-to-day activities associated with budgeting, development, implementation and evaluation of HCP marketing programs and materials to support the business objectives for Abbott’s Nutrition International brands. This position will have responsibility to engage key opinion leaders (KOLs) who help strengthen our programs for respective brands. Additionally, this position will contribute to the development and delivery of “best in class” HCP marketing programs, materials and communications for all brand initiatives targeted at HCPs Key outputs for this position include:
International congress strategy and management: Develop a set of international congress and other medical education/conference strategies for the year, develop work plan and implement with excellence
HCP marketing claims and material development: Partnering with the brand team marketing lead, help develop effective HCP marketing claims and materials to strengthen brand messages for our HCP audience. Output could include, but not limited to, sales aids, objection handlers, videos), illustrations, newsletters and scientific publications
Internal sales & HCP marketing training material development: “Science & Selling” training slides for various topics, HCP marketing effectiveness training slides
HCP educational program and material development: work with Medical Affairs, a medical writer and designated KOLs to develop HCP educational programs & content in a timely fashion within budget
KOL database/reference document: Develop a KOL database/reference file by leveraging existing files and database to meet the team’s needs.
Responsible for implementing HCP marketing programs. Contribute to HCP strategy development to be built into brand plans. In particular, lead and execute select international congresses
Manage external partners (KOLs, consultants, agencies, congress organizers) for flawless delivery of agreed-upon output
Partner with internal partners for best-in-class execution (Affiliate, Area and Central marketing, , various R&D functions, Legal and OEC, Regulatory, etc.)
Manage HCP marketing budget
Develop annual congress strategy by working with the Brand marketing managers, R&D, Scientific & Medical Affairs
Present overview and draft work plans and gain alignment from internal stakeholders, and subsequently provide clear and comprehensive update to ensure continued engagement and alignment
Manage budget and agency relationships to execute congress programs flawlessly
Develop program effectiveness assessment measures by working with other brand teams as well as Area/Affiliate marketing members
At the conclusion of each congress, issue summary documents and provide a “package” to share with Affiliates, including newsletters, videotaped contents, slide sets, etc.
- BS / BA in Marketing, Management, or Business required. MBA preferred.
Excellent project management and organizational skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proven track record in leading programs and teams
5+ years in marketing, preferably with marketing to HCPs
Prior medical congress management experiences
Solid analytical skills
Proven ability to translate strategies into tactics
Proven ability to develop effective annual work plans and develop budgets and to consistently deliver against targets in a timely manner
Have basic knowledge of websites, portal design and electronic content development
