JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Summary

The Account Executive works independently to achieve sales goals, in an assigned geographic territory, by selling the entire line of Abbott Molecular products. This is a field based sales position, calling on key decision makers in the Laboratory, Administration, and Clinical areas, at major hospitals, VAs, Department of Health Labs, and Reference Laboratories.

Main Responsibilities

Follow Abbott Molecular Standard Operating Procedures for handling complaints.

Compliant with all OEC guidelines and adhere to the Abbott Code of Business Conduct.

Protect all confidential information.

Follow AM Standard Operating Procedures for handling complaints.

Adhere to EHS policies, procedures, rules and regulations.

Work in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.

Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales goals by selling the entire Abbott Molecular product line.

Directly promote the profitability of all Abbott Molecular products, utilize good time/territory management practices within assigned territory.

Develop and execute on account specific strategies for every Molecular Lab within assigned territory.

Uses Presentations, Video Demonstrations (VIDs), MaxPro Software, white papers, brochures, Des Plaines visits, local, regional, and national references, Scientific Affairs, and other Abbott divisional contacts to continually move the sales cycle forward.

Prospect for new opportunities.

Be in the field selling at least 4.0 days per week making a minimum of 4 calls per day.

Call on all potential molecular product targets within each department, for example, Virology, Microbiology, Cytogenetics, Molecular, Transplant, Genetics, including Medical Directors (MD) of Infectious Disease.

Prepare and execute weekly call plan, update to manager.

Effectively use CSS model in daily sales calls.

Demonstrate effective presentation and negotiation skills Submit all requested reports by specified due dates.

Utilize reports and tools such as SNAP, Quote Forms, Contract Templates, TAM Analysis, and SFDC to manage performance.

Effectively utilize Microsoft Programs such as WORD, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Respond to customer phone calls within 4 hours, and emails within 24 hours.

Understand issues facing customers.

Quickly learn new products, continue to build knowledge through training and on line learning tools.

Provide excellent technical information, differentiating AM product benefits from competitors.

Attend and participate in local, regional, and national Trade Shows, as well as local society meetings as appropriate.

Plan, organize and support the use of In-services, Med Eds, and other educational opportunities within assigned territory.

May perform other duties as assigned.

Accountability

The Account Executive reports to the Regional Sales Manager Account Executive must represent Molecular in a professional, forthright, and ethical manner.

Maintain and grow Abbott Molecular lines of business to ensure that the divisional goals are achieved.

Qualifications

BA in technical or business discipline required. BS in biological science degree or equivalent or advanced degree preferred. Experience in molecular techniques a plus. Three to Five years of proven sales success or clinical laboratory experience is required, Molecular or Cytogenetics preferred. Excellent skills in planning and executing account specific strategies, consultative selling skills, territory management, negotiation, presentation, and communication are required. A valid U.S. Driver’s license and acceptable DMV Report is required. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite required.
