This is a highly visible role and will serve as a critical contributor to building compelling products within Abbott’s Electrophysiology group.
Support development programs from concept through launch.
She/he may be responsible for supporting on-market products post-launch.
Responsible for project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and closure.
Key performance indicators for this role include on time project delivery to quality, customer satisfaction and cost.
Work with members of the development team to build work packages that support delivery of specific program milestones.
Provide day-to-day project oversight, leadership and decision making.
Review requests for work and prioritize as-needed competing projects based on established criteria.
Run complex projects from initiation to completion.
Define project requirements, establish project plans, resources, schedules, risk mitigation and contingency planning.
Evaluate existing applications/products to meet project requirements and develop recommendations.
Efficiently anticipate, identify and solve project related issues, manage changes in project scope and implementation.
Direct and oversee project team performance, manages conflict, handles team assessments and inputs into annual performance review for project / program team members.
Conduct gap analysis to identify system, application and/or hardware needs.
Create, manage and update project deliverables and documentation (technical and project).
Create, present and disseminate project status via reports, presentations and updates to team members and R&D / Division leadership.
Plan schedule project deliverables, goals and milestones.
Conceive plans, execute and track architecture related development projects.
Serve as a lead if necessary, on internal development programs as well as OEM / co-development programs in accordance with the relevant Quality and Regulatory requirements.
Responsible for the project management of product development in compliance with internal policies and procedures, both US and Foreign regulatory standards and requirements.
Accountable for effective project management on development projects and on-market products.
Accountable for the assessment of technical risks on programs and on-market products.
Interact with R&D leadership on project scope,timeline,risks and budget.
Work as part of cross-functional teams in Global Marketing,Research & Development,Information Technology,Quality,Operations,Regulatory and Business Development to deliver our products.
Work with a broad range of technologists and support personnel both within and outside of Abbott.
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as engineering or related field
Project Management certification (PMP or other) is desired but not required.
An advanced degree such as a MBA is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience at a startup, mid- to large-sized corporation is required.
The candidate must have experience in developing and launching products in a regulated industry
The candidate must possess good oral and written communication skills.
She/he must have strong organization skills; able to work with limited supervision and assume a strong positive, leadership presence within project teams.
