Primary Job Function:
Apply understanding of technical engineering, people and process management, and the environment to support attainment of business objectives; manages the plans and operations of the department ensuring organizational objectives and goals are met;
Core Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
Manage and lead the day-to-day operations of the department; provide technical and process guidance to both internal and external resources; assess and execute cost reduction activities;
Responsible for providing project management oversight to all assigned projects within the department;
Responsible for all people-management activities including but not limited to: mentoring, performance
management, administrative duties;
Lead and / or participate on cross-functional teams to support organizational goals;
Responsible for design changes and transfers that impact manufacturing;
Travel up to 10% of the time by any means necessary to support organizational goals;
Understand and promote adherence to EHS policies, procedures, rules and regulations; complete all required EHS training programs; ensure employees report any work related injuries or illness and are promptly investigated;
Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the Quality System.

This position is accountable for the following:
implementation of strategy, scope, process and programs related to the engineering function;
providing significant and positive impact to short-term, mid-range and long-term organizational goals;
demonstrating continual improvement in engineering matters;
creating a work environment that supports cross-functional team effectiveness;
management and development of reporting staff;
provide input during budget processes;
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
Typically requires 8+ years of engineering experience with or exposure to manufacturing, quality and/or product
development to develop the competence required to meet the skills and responsibilities of the position.
Candidate / incumbent should possess the following:
ability to motivate, direct and provide technical knowledge and mentoring to technical support staff;
ability to operate independently within a broad scope of responsibilities under minimal supervision and
under challenging time constraints; experience with or exposure to a regulated environment; ability to clearly, concisely and accurately convey communications; ability to form and develop interpersonal,
professional relationships; displays socially and professionally appropriate behavior;
ability to interpret and evaluate complex processes, develop and propose risk-based options to resolve
issues and implement solutions; ability to influence and lead both with and without direct authority;
demonstrated leadership skills; strong organization, time- and project management skills; ability and aptitude to use various types of databases and computer software to complete CJRs;
