The Workday HCM Techno/Functional Analyst will be a member of Abbott HRIS group supporting global Human Capital Management team. This position will serve as a key subject matter expert supporting all Core HCM functionality in Workday. This position will also be responsible for providing input on project planning, administrating, developing and documenting business requirements, and delivering and testing implementation solutions. This position will support design and implementation of integrations with business systems and other applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build, Test, and Deploy solutions in Workday system to support Human Capital Management processes and upgrades.

  • Understand customer’s requirements and participate with project team on the most appropriate approach and desired outcomes.

  • Coordinate assigned deliverable schedules to ensure customer’s timelines are met. Provide guidance to customers or service partners.

  • Support the continued development, optimization and simplification of Workday processes and integrations, focusing on delivering a positive experience to the end user.

  • Work directly with business client and/or application vendors to confirm technical/business requirements, consider design alternatives, facilitate discussions and ultimately drive requirements sign-off. Evaluate, communicate and coordinate the technical impacts of application configuration decisions.

  • Create detailed system integration specifications, field mapping, and system process designs.

  • Develop, test and deploy integrations required to meet business requirements.

  • Support integrations across various business systems by monitoring, break-fix and/or enhancement support.

  • Manage work activities and ticket volumes to meet required SLA’s and service delivery measures

  • Understand and document the HR business requirements and translate requirements into system designs

  • Create, maintain and execute UAT scripts including regression testing the new functionality before deployment

  • Ability to prioritize and work on multiple requests

  • Actively participate in the Workday Community, training and regional user groups to ensure awareness of current trends and innovation Core Job Responsibilities Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.Applies and executes standard information systems theories, concepts and techniques and assists in the development of standards and procedures. Investigates alternatives, which use existing applications and makes recommendations. Conducts tests; develops preliminary findings for review by management. Conducts training. Manages projects according to milestones and within budget constraints. Identifies and implements process improvements. Minimum Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred.

  • Minimum Experience / Training Required

  • 4-7 years of experience

  • Three (3) or more years of Workday experience required.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with Workday modules - HCM, Recruiting, Onboarding, Compensation, Performance, Talent, and Benefits is preferred.

  • Experience with reports and integrations from Workday to internal and external systems using Workday technologies including calculated fields, custom reports, EIBs, core connectors, Document Transformation, XSLT, Workday Studio, Web Services etc.

  • Workday certification/training is a plus.

  • Knowledge and experience in applications and databases such as Active Directory, SAP, Oracle, etc., would be a huge asset

  • Excellent communications skills.
