Position Summary:

  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system. Provide total technical support to ADD manufacturing and distribution operations. This will involve various & unique set-ups, construction, modification, trouble shooting and repair of computer controlled equipment or processes. Assists in the design of equipment.

  • Second shift

Main Responsibilities:

  • Sets-up, troubleshoots, disassembles, determines corrective action, and reassembles machinery.

  • Uses complex mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and PLC programs.

  • Troubleshoots and resolves most control problems.

  • May be required to perform close tolerance work utilizing most shop equipment.

  • Completes extensive PLC work.

  • Follows safe work procedures and practices.

  • Performs complicated mechanical and/or electrical repair, modification, and maintenance of production machinery and processes.

  • May design and fabricate complex replacement parts to close tolerances. Provides technical direction and training for Operations Mechanics III & II.

  • Required to share expertise with others on the team.

  • Provides back up coverage to shift leader. Requires good communications skills.

  • Resolves problems with management from other groups; deals with outside vendors.

  • Determine Specifications: Discusses design of part or tool with user to determine specifications. \Parts Fabrication: Fabricates parts or tools based on design of part to be replaced in a timely fashion.

  • Unique Fabrications: Fabricates replacement pats for one-of-a-kind tools or parts in repair situations in a timely fashion.

  • Machinery Use: Uses machinery equipment such as lathes and mills to fabricate or repair tools or other parts in a timely fashion.

  • Knows Safety Standards: Demonstrates knowledge of the applicable safety standards and practices required in the manufacture of ADD products through personal work habits.

  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoots equipment and machinery problems, identifies and makes needed repairs.

  • Document Reading: Refers to manuals or other written material in the course of diagnosing equipment or machine malfunctions.

  • Mechanical Drawings Reading: Roads and interprets equipment drawings, diagrams, etc., in order to diagnose proper operations of machinery equipment.

  • Controls Drawings Reading: Reads and interprets schematics, wiring, diagrams, ladder logic, etc., in order to diagnose proper operations of machinery equipment.

  • Equipment Set Up: Sets up and makes adjustment to equipment or machinery.

  • Equipment Checks: Checks equipment setting(s) against specifications before operation, making adjustments) when necessary.

  • Final Checks; Ensures that machine or equipment components are connected and working properly.

  • Replaces electrical components such as relays, timers. meters, switches, etc.

  • Traces circuits using electrical testing equipment and schematics.

  • Rewires a piece of control equipment or machinery to solve electrical problems.

  • Makes plans to accomplish assigned preventative maintenance activities.

  • Identifies and obtains appropriate parts and labor necessary to complete a task or project. Responds to customer requests and contacts appropriate individuals to resolve customers problems.

  • Knows who key customers are and their requirements.

  • Actively searches for ways to increase customer satisfaction.

  • Interacts with customers in a timely and professional manner- Solicits and utilizes customer feedback. ,Quality Control: Inspects equipment and changeover parts and mechanical components for errors or flaws to insure proper setup.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting IVDs and Biologics.

  • Requires a High School education or equivalent with 2 years trades training or equivalent and five years of qualifying experience.

  • Must achieve a high level of proficiency as an Operations Mechanic II.

  • Must complete one year minimum in ADD operations, and possess extensive controls troubleshooting experience, including PLC's.
