Primary Job Function:

Travel Requirement: 30 - 40% (USA)

Design, develop, and implement sales training programs relating to ABBOTT DIAGNOSTICS products, selling skills, and market segments. Develop and apply assessment activities, accurately identifying the needs of the organization and its sales channels. Provide National Training Manager and sales management team with progress reports detailing the sales team's performance. Within assigned market, build on subject matter expertise (SME) related to the industry, marketplace and industry-wide product lines.

Major Responsibilities:

Compliance Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system by understanding and adhering to the Code of Business Conduct, Operating Guidelines and PDMA Guidelines. Training Programs Work with the National Training Manager to implement national training programs and initiatives. This includes the identification and prioritization of training needs through collaboration with the leadership team of the assigned market. Stay current on any industry and/or market trends, assessing the potential impact on customer group and designing the training curriculum appropriately. Further develop the New Hire Sales Training Program through content revisions of product, sales skills, the addition of new modules and activities consistent with the company's needs, and the inclusion of current learning/training techniques and industry best practices. Provide ongoing review and evaluation of current training practices to ensure quality and determine suitability of audiences, recommending revisions where necessary. Effectively forecast and manage program budget. Help facilitate all property logistics associated with training programs and training initiatives both on and off campus. Sales Training Tools Through regular meetings with Sales and Marketing, develop training centered on the launch of new products / programs and new sales aides. Bench mark against competitive systems / programs. Work with the field sales representatives and sales managers to implement training associated with new promotional tools. Design and implement e-learning initiatives. Analysis of Training Effectiveness Develop and implement assessment tools for measuring training program effectiveness. In addition, provide regular analysis and progress reports to Training and sales management teams. Document performance against expectations for all sales representative encounters. Leadership Activities Lead project work teams and champion the timely completion of adhoc training activities and programs. Exemplify the Core Values/Competencies in daily activities. Bring value to the training organization by staying informed with new developments in training delivery and content development. Establish a mentoring relationship with associate sales trainer or district sales trainer. Become a "category captain" by developing expertise in an area of interest/strategic importance. Share this expertise with training team through activities and programs.

Minimum Education Required:

Bachelor’s Degree

Minimum Work Experience and Training Required:

5-7 years overall business experience

•3+ years successful sales experience in device or equivalent industry

• 2+ years in a sales training capacity, preferred + Demonstrated track record of high achievement

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills

+Very effective in 1:1 coaching and small group/classroom facilitation + Works very effectively in peer/group settings and with industry vendors

  • Demonstrates effective leadership skills + Very good overall computer skills; proficient in Microsoft suite of products, advanced application in PowerPoint

  • Very good knowledge of diagnostic industry, market, and customers

  • Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting ABBOTT DIAGNOSTICS products and selling practices in device industry
