Primary Job Function

The Supplier Process Engineer (Mechanical) will manage and maintain the technical qualification of injection molding suppliers and supplier processes, supervise the resolution of complex technical issues and lead the supplier development team for designated components / processes. The position provides technical leadership, project management and mentoring to engineers and team members. Drives activities at the supplier(s) to ensure that production start-up through to scale up to increased volumes are achieved within ADC requirements.

Job Responsibilities

Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.

  1. Technical lead to manage large scale, complex multiple projects.

  2. Coordinate and lead the utilization internal/external resources to achieve project goals.

  3. Support of external suppliers through managing the qualification of supplier products and processes, analyzing and resolving supplier technical issues.

  4. Initiate and manage process excellence projects to improve quality, yields and value received from the supply base.

  5. Identify, Characterize and Document all key process variables included in Design Transfer.

  6. Optimizes the manufacturing processes at suppliers to provide sustainable gains in cost effectiveness and quality improvement through capital projects, statistical analysis, design of experiments and procedural changes

  7. Link between R&D and supplier linking design requirements through to sustainable manufacturing quality attributes and parameters.

  8. Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and divisional policies, and performing duties as assigned by management

  9. Serve as subject matter expert (SME) or independent technical expert (ITE) on a project's technical matters; may interface with senior management, external firms or agencies; may coordinate technical matters between organizations;

  10. Understand and comply with applicable EHS policies, procedures, rules and regulations;

Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree (preferably in Engineering, science or a closely related discipline is desired) or equivalent technical experience and demonstrated competence required; additional post-graduate education may contribute toward the desired years of experience. Polymer or Mechanical Degree preferred.

Minimum Experience / Training Required

Typically requires 8+ years of significant engineering and / or operational experience to develop the

competence required to meet the skills and responsibilities of the position;

Preferred Experience / Training

  • Experience of working in an injection molding environment in contract or OEM

  • Experience of leading cross functional teams to support large scale projects including the implementation of New Products into manufacturing at supplier sites

  • Prior Experience of analyzing First Article Inspection (FAI) and PpK data, familiarity with cGMP, FDA and ISO regulated environment.

  • Qualified in Injection Molding Process development SIM study to Master Molder level would be an advantage

  • Experience in work with tooling manufacturing sites including interacting with toolmakers suppliers for design & FAT qualification actives

  • Equipment design and specification with Validation experience

  • Able to demonstrate DOE & greenbelt DMAIC methodologies

  • Experience with RJG pressure transducers for process control would be an advantage
