The Principal Statistical Analyst is the lead role in development of standardized R programs, macros and programming standards and other technology aspects of the statistics department and provide R programming support and training for other department members.

Main Responsibilities:

Demonstrate extensive understanding of R programming concepts and techniques appropriate to the health care industry.

Demonstrate proficiency in applying R programming knowledge to solve problems related to non-routine situations.

Lead effort to determine project standards related to output design and statistical programming conventions and independently ensure they are appropriate to support project objectives.

Responsible for monitoring regulatory guidance and industry best practices to formulate proposals for new functional standards.

Oversee the development and validation of new R programs and functions.

Responsible for formulating proposals for R programming solutions.

Effectively mentor peers with regard to statistical programming practices.

Provide presentations on statistical programming topics.

Communicate an understanding of clinical principles, regulatory standards, and diagnostic principles, and act in accordance with those principles by providing programming standards and standard programs in accordance with these guidelines and regulations.

Responsible for developing and maintaining good client relationships.

Effectively represent the Statistical Programming organization on cross functional initiative teams.

Accountability/Scope/Budget:

The position reports to an Associate Director of Statistics or equivalent to ensure that departmental goals are accomplished and high quality work is provided to support product development and product launches.

Qualifications:

M.S. Statistics or PhD Statistics or a related field Minimum of 10 years’ experience programming and statistics analysis in the diagnostics, device or pharmaceutical industry or related area is required with a MS or at least 8 years’ experience programming and statistical analysis in the diagnostics, device, or pharmaceutical industry or related area is required with a PhD in statistics.

Preferred Qualifications

Must be highly experienced, proficient expert in statistical programming and data manipulation and reporting of statistical analyses. Must have at least 10 years of programming experience, and familiar with SAS programming, but an expert in R programming in device/pharma regulated arena.
