Provides specialized technical support services by performing any combination of complex or non-routine duties involving the selection and use of procedures and/or equipment in support of medical diagnostic instrument and/or reagent development and production.
This position will be part of a cross training program at a Lake County, IL manufacturing facility. The candidate will be required to deploy internationally for an extended period, followed by international travel for manufacturer visits and FAT, from Lake County, IL. After a period of six to nine months, the candidate will be based locally at the manufacturing facility with minimal travel.
Problem Solving: Resolves non-routine, complex problems with data gathering, research, analysis and interpretive activities.

Organizes and adapts daily/weekly activities to meet assigned manufacturing schedule.
Researches, recommends, and implements appropriate changes for process improvements.
Works independently to meet manufacturing schedule and project goals. Assignments often require creativity.

Conveys process and operational information inside and outside of immediate area of responsibility.

Writes basic procedures and technical documents.
Applies a high level of technical support in a specialized discipline using knowledge and theory of electronics, life science, mechanics, software, etc.
Advanced skills in computer hardware and /or software applications as needed for functional specialty.
Reads, understands and instructs others in the use of manuals, test procedures, and documentation associated with specialized equipment.
Reads, interprets, and may create engineering drawings, schematics and complex test procedures.
*Preferred candidates will have mechanical and/or automation background. Medical device manufacturing would also be a strong preference
Associate’s degree, or equivalent experience, is required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Work requires the theoretical and conceptual knowledge associated with an associate’s degree.
This position requires five or more years related technical experience. Training includes on the job training. Degree of physical effort and environment:
Ability to travel and work away from home for an extended period
Occasionally work outside of normal working hours
Normal work fatigue.
Typical electronic manufacturing environment.
Some work subject to frequent hand/eye coordination, lifting/carrying of objects or operating equipment.
