Position Summary

Performs all housekeeping tasks outlined in the Cleaning Specialist Grade 2 Job Description. Specializes working in facilities that manufacture a finished product for sale, or sale to a another division for use in an end product. Performs aseptic cleaning procedures that must comply with good manufacturing practices and regulatory guidelines which include documentation of work procedures frequently audited by the FDA and other regulatory agencies. Such areas include but not limited to: ADD Fill Suites, High Speed Lines and Tissue Cultures. Harvest suites, Bioharzard Level 3 containment suites and High Potentency Drug manufacturing suites. The work will be accomplished under the general supervision of Lead Personnel and an area Supervisor.

Additional Main Responsibilities

Required to perform cross contamination cleaning methods in areas that contain radioactive or biohazardous materials or areas that require microbial control.

Required to prepare radioactive and biohazard housekeeping equipment for autoclaving or disposal.

Prepares floor and wall mops for autoclaving used in microbial controlled areas.

Monitor waste for radioactive contamination and identify biohazardous waste.

Pick and dispose of cold waste from production laboratories, manufacturing support laboratories, research laboratories, and common support areas.

Required to complete GMP documentation attestation logs, work orders, training documents.

Required to operate hand held electronic documentation unit (when applicable) to complete GMP documentation.

Prepares cleaning solutions based on GMP regulated mixing instructions.

Performs microbial control cleaning techniques on walls, ceiling and floors based on GMP regulated cleaning frequencies and guidelines.

Completes preventive maintenance work orders to meet GMP cleaning requirements.

Operate various types of wet/dry battery and electric equipment.

Operate various types of electric and battery type walk behind or ride-on floor scrubbers, sweepers and burnishers.

Perform preventive maintenance on housekeeping equipment such as: battery maintenance, squeegee adjustments, air pressure checks, filters checks. 14.

Support various recycling programs to include but not limited to: glass, paper, corrugate and plastic by staging and preparing for transportation.

Operate bailing and compacting equipment.

Performs chemical sterilization of housekeeping equipment and supplies for aseptic environments.

Performs radioactive decontamination procedures and biohazard decontamination procedures on equipment and facilities.

Monitors equipment as well as solid and liquid waste for radioactive contamination.

Required to follow specific gowning procedures and perform GMP entrance and exit procedures for aseptic environments.

Required to achieve certification in aseptic dress procedures for aseptic areas.

Required to move cleaning equipment and supplies into aseptic environments through material pass through air locks.

Perform aseptic microbic cleaning techniques in area types listed in the objectives of this job description.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Background: Must be able to read and comprehend written information to include Corporate Quality Documents, Cross Divisional Operating Procedures &, Safety Guidelines, Departmental Basic Operating Procedures &, Safety Guidelines and Operating Instructions. Must be able to complete accurate and legible written records in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices when documenting work performed, (room attestations, work orders, cleaning logs) auditable by regulatory agencies. Must be able to operate a computer to complete required compliance/technical training, to download daily work instructions to hand held computer and document work performed, then sync back into the CMMS for GMP review and archiving. Must have the ability to learn proper microbal cleaning technique’s and the ability to perform entrance and exit procedures to meet regulatory requirements. Must have the ability to work alone or as a team member sharing responsibility and work tasks with the ability to work in environments containing radioactive and biohazards material. Must be able to write legibility in English and keep written records of tasks performed on project work logs and attestations and other GMP related documentation. Must be able to comply with good manufacturing practices and regulatory guidelines. Must be able to pass radiation handlers training. Must be able to perform all cleaning specialist job functions. Must have proven work record indicating initiative and dependability, and/or personal recommendations from responsible individuals.
