Primary Job Function:

Provide technical & analytical support for customs & trade compliance matters at the site/division level, ensuring compliance with all relevant customs regulations & trade laws & regulations, including 19CFR, 15CFR, FDA, USDA, & other US regulatory agency requirements. Applies working knowledge of import/export regulations & requirements to support business needs. Consolidate & analyze import/export data to identify risks or opportunities for savings. Prepare reports & make recommendations to management, as appropriate. Provide analytical support related to CBP Requests for Information, Post-Entry Amendments & Prior Disclosures. Ensure proper classification, valuation & origin determination for the site’s imported goods, including non-commercial goods. Interface with related functional areas (logistics, purchasing, materials management, etc.) on customs matters & coordinate training for personnel in these areas, as needed. Conduct effective & timely transactional review/audit of all import/export records. Elevate issues requiring correction to Corporate C&TC. Provide analytical support to general import/export-related projects, as needed.

Minimum Education and Experience :

  • BA in Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business

  • Knowledge preferred: 19CFR, 15CFR, FDA, and experience in Import/Export regulations

  • 2-3 years of experience in the medical device / biotech industry is preferred but not required

  • Analytical, detail oriented, drives process improvement, good communication skills, eager to learn

Additional Preferred Qualifications : Other relevant industries include Pharmaceutical, Aerospace and Finance. Strong administrative skills are also important.
