Position Summary

Responsible for ensuring US no charge product is distributed in compliance with applicable US regulations. Manage compliance activities and records supporting all US no charge product requests for the division. Key responsibilities include process design and implementation for compliant distribution of US no charge product, monitoring for compliance with OEC and divisional policies and procedures, and supporting audits (compliance, quality, etc.).

Main Responsibilities

#1 - Ensure and verify adherence to compliance requirements for distribution of no charge product.

#2 - Main contact for division for distribution of US no charge product.

#3 - Develop, implement, and maintain programs and communication necessary to train and educate ADC personnel to ensure compliance to the corporate and division no charge product requirements. Maintain evidence of training as needed.

#4 - Convey new issues and information within division to continually develop compliance standards and best practices.

#5 - Direct and manage compliance activities related to no charge products procedures.

#6 - Provide compliance direction regarding the process for distribution of no charge products consistent with corporate and divisional requirements.

#7 - Ensure that established policies and procedures are communicated and followed for all ADC US Commercial marketing programs.

#8 - Supervise the inventory reconciliation process and communicate results to management.

#9 - Order no charge product as needed.

#10 - Provide periodic monitoring reports to the Office of Ethics and Compliance (OEC).

#11 - Lead auditors through the divisional no charge product procedures and prepare reports and documentation for auditor review as requested.

This position is critical to assure:

Integration and consistency in the management of no charge product programs providing a system for reporting documentation and order details as evidence of adherence to corporate and divisional compliance requirements.

Validating that processes that support distribution of no charge product include compliance traceability to OEC requirements, while meeting the needs of the Sales and Marketing teams.

Identifying system enhancements, constantly improving and updating the process for distribution of no charge product to support the division growing needs.

Development and execution of processes to manage the flow of requests for no charge product between suppliers and US Sales & Marketing or other functional groups.

Support all no charge product training and audits.

Lead sampling inventory reconciliation process and report results.


Strong understanding of the Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC) sales channels, customers and all channels of distribution.

Creates, supports and develops all areas of Implementation to support the Sales and Marketing teams in tasks related to no charge product.

Identifies compliant methods for successful implementation of new marketing programs that include no charge product.

Understands business environment and relates extensive knowledge of internal and external activities.

Provides expertise and leadership related to no charge products to the business units.

Has broad knowledge of various process alternatives and their potential impact on the compliance procedure.

Effective communication and writing skills focused on timely and accurate completion of assigned projects.

Demonstrated leadership ability.

Analyzes and develops reports that relate to all compliance modules and no charge product shipments.

Analyze inventories for potential product availability gaps and communicates this information to responsible channel personnel.

MBA/BA/BS Degree preferred or equivalent experience. Minimum 8 years’ experience. Prefer Sales and Marketing, customer service, sales operations, or business planning environment. 2 to 3 years’ experience in compliance or regulatory position. Working knowledge of regulations, and standards affecting In Vitro Diagnostics and Biologics. Working knowledge of Scheduling processes and systems. Working knowledge of planning, control, auditing and reporting mechanisms. Excellent skills with software application knowledge: Microsoft Word, Office, MS Excel, MS Project, MS Visio, Symphony
