The Program Manager of Reimbursement Operations will drive the development of strategic information to customers and Abbott representatives about healthcare economics and reimbursement related to procedures supported by our technology; and is one which drives market adoption by building on the potential of Abbott solutions to create economic value for healthcare providers, payers and patients.
Works with a team of health economic and reimbursement professionals to develop tools, programs and messages that support and enable the sale and use of Abbott therapy solutions by healthcare providers within the US.
Provides strategic direction on the tools, programs and messages produced by the healthcare conomics and reimbursement department.
Manages communication cadence on behalf of department with sales, marketing, public relations and executives
Establishes and maintains working relationships with internal Abbott stakeholders including but not limited to USD Marketing, Sales Operations, Corporate and National Accounts, and US Sales divisions.
On an ad hoc basis, assist Area Vice Presidents, Regional Sales Directors and Regional Sales Managers in the development, implementation and management of strategic initiatives within targeted accounts and geography.
Participates in assigned cross-departmental meetings and conference calls for the purpose of providing input and guidance regarding market dynamics and issues needing focus, attention and action.
Analyzes trends relating to current private payer, workers compensation administrators and Medicare carriers, and provide updates to manager on impact to Abbott product portfolio.
HE&R/Sales Field Support
Assists field HCE team in analysis of customer metrics including service line finance, individual quality measures, and performance data to influence key decision makers within GPOs, Hospital executives / purchasing officers, and health systems during Value Analysis and ad hoc presentations, to augment Company’s sales objectives.
Facilitates and deploy tactics to ensure product coverage with payers, based on the clinical and economic efficiencies of Abbott products.
Assists in developing and regularly updating an “Abbott reimbursement tool box” for use by USD stakeholders in clinical and economic settings.
Works with manager to develop and implement reports/programs for BaseCase apps which expand current analytic and functional capabilities, and effectively each the entire sales
Strategic Reimbursement and Coding Support
Supports Abbott Divisions as it relates to pre/post-launch private payer and reimbursement issues or requirements, including commercial insurance packets and follow-up.
Oversees development of coding guides provided by Patient Therapy Access team, reimbursement apps and educational content to support economic and reimbursement related activities in assigned business segments.
Data Analytics Support
Utilizes multiple business systems to enter, extract and correct data. Interacts with internal customers, as needed, to understand and review data issues.
Actively participates in understanding root cause and the identification of actions to drive data integrity resolution as appropriate.
Runs reports, creates summaries of data and distributes information proactively on a regular basis as well as when requested.
A minimum of 2 years of medical device and / or pharmaceutical industry.
Advanced, hands-on experience in Microsoft Excel Pivot tables.
Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
Must have strong project management skills.
Must have strong analytical and prioritization skills with the ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
Must be able to perform under pressure and in a very dynamic environment.
Must have a high degree of initiative, motivation and passion for the business.
Must be able to work, direct, and take direction with all levels of management.
Must have ability to understand complex and technical information.
Must be able to perform in a diverse cross-functional team environment.
Advanced personal computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office.
Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
Ability to travel approximately 30%, including internationally.
