We’re seeking an experienced, high-caliber Marketing Communications Specialist who will be responsible for executing campaigns across multiple channels and geographies to enable sales and build the Abbott Brand. This role’s success is built upon the ability to demonstrate an understanding of the business, product, customer, distribution channels, and competitors while applying their perspective and expertise in marketing communications to execute global plans.
Project management and asset creation for congresses, meetings and events.
Manage special projects such as quarterly sales playbook, podcasts and webinar series.
Liason with specific geographies, such as Canada, Latin America and Asia Pacific, and provide direction to ensure consistent global messaging and strategy.
Primary touch point for “one-off” ad and promo regulatory reviews.
Develop and maintain an understanding about the nuances of different global geographies and selling divisions to ensure communications campaigns enable the sales organizations.
Produce communications materials using established department procedures and tools.
Understand project budgets and propose cost saving measures where appropriate.
Collaborate closely with peers in Marketing, Conventions, Public Relations and Creative to align on product launches, campaigns, process, strategies, best practices and efficiencies.
For all print and digital collateral and support materials, maintain appropriate compliance usage and adequate inventory to support internal and external customers.
Partner and collaborate with outside agencies/vendors to ensure initiatives meet expectations.
Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
Four-year degree, preferably a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Advertising, Marketing, Public Relations.
3-5 years professional experience in marketing communications, advertising or similar field.
Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
Excellent proof reading skills.
Ability to learn new tasks quickly and coordinate multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.
Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
Strong project management skills.
Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
Excellent use of MS Office (including PowerPoint and Excel) as well as experience working with Apple iPad.
Medical Device industry or other regulated industry experience a plus.
