For its location in Allschwil (CH), close to Basel, Abbott Established Pharmaceutical Division (EPD) is looking for a pro-active individual in the role of
The Financial Analyst is accountable for the quality and timeliness of financial reports. He/She is in contact with the EPD country and area Finance counterparts as well as with other functional stakeholders in the Division, ensuring clear and transparent communication. He/She is in charge of ad-hoc analysis, system preparation, support in the planning cycle and projects.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities of the Job may include:
Provide reliable, timely, and accurate financial information to enable effective decision-making. Apply appropriate logic and financial concepts to solve problems and recommend solutions
Consolidate financial forecasts (Plan, Rolling Last Best Estimate) and provide comprehensive analytical financial support
Prepare and maintain planning systems in cooperation with technical support team (ensure data integrity, create ad-hoc templates, escalate and solve issues)
Interact with Finance Management to prepare planning schedules and key management reports, focusing on variance analysis (performance and exchange), trends, and key indicators
Ensure proactive coordination of planning cycles with functional areas: prepare instructions and plan books, send regular communication, control timelines and quality of submissions, analyze and consolidate results, anticipate issues and inform management on time
Prepare exchange impact analysis on revenue, expenses and profitability by modeling variations in exchange rates
Coordinate with and support Corporate Transfer Price and Corporate Margin Group
Bachelor’s or Master's Degree (preferred) in Finance, Accounting or equivalent
Minimum 2 years of experience in Financial Planning and Analysis, general accounting and/or financial reporting
A first experience in the Pharmaceutical industry would be an asset
An experience in coordinating multiple relationship at the international level is of advantage
Knowledge of Financial Statements (P&L /Balance Sheet), US GAAP/IFRS
Proficient Excel knowledge (data modelling) and good numerical reasoning
Affinity to work with various systems like Information/Planning systems (Essbase), Data Warehouse (COGNOS, Oracle Hyperion) and SAP
Winning mentality, “can-do” attitude, innovative, customer focus and cross-functional team player
Result-driven, like hands-on work, pragmatic
High Level of professionalism and integrity
Ability to work under pressure and tight timings
Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to details, critical thinking
Should possess strong oral and written communication skills and demonstrate strong business acumen
Excellent command of English is essential, any other languages would be an asset
