Primary Function/Primary Goals/Objectives:

Primary responsibilities for the Engineer R&D are to manage capital projects from RCE initiation though start up and validation. The engineer will need to support a wide range of capital projects including equipment, facilities and utilities. Ensure equipment is installed, tested and tracked through the validation program. This position also provides technical assistance for existing production equipment. Supports the quality systems by completing investigations and recommendations for corrective actions. Experience in aseptic processing and filling is desired.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Manage Capital projects from RCE generation through completion.

  • Gain alignment with operations and quality groups for user requirements.

  • Responsible for capital projects budgets and asset management.

  • Plans and coordinates equipment upgrades and ensure validation packages are executed per division requirements.

  • Identifies potential manufacturing improvements for the Pilot Plant and Process Research Center.

  • Maintains the following: drawings, change control documents, and project documentation.

  • Support Calibration and Maintenance areas as a technical resource.

  • Backup liason for managers and engineers in the department.

  • Complete CAPA investigations and drive facility compliance.

  • Complete projects with zero safety incidences.

  • Supervise contractors during construction projects.

  • Work in a team environment to meet department goals and time lines


  • Bachelors in an engineering discipline: Plus 4 years of experience related to industrial engineering or maintenance supervision.


Individual must have ability to independently identify and solve process related problems that arise in the course of product manufacturing. This requires knowledge of the equipment processes and the ability to suggest practical solutions to resolve operational issues. This position requires supervising multiple skilled trades during equipment installations. Experience with traditional processing, aseptic technology, and bottle sterilization is desired.
