PRIMARY FUNCTION/PRIMARY GOALS / OBJECTIVES

Responsible for developing and implementing shopper and category strategies based on shared brand and retailer goals.

Primary responsibilities include translating consumer and shopper insights to actionable retail strategies and selling presentations.

Drive Category Vision tied to insights and trends that illuminate retail growth pathways, guide on action retailers can take to solidify growth.

Communicating top retailer activity to Abbott leadership assessing assortment actions, shelf activity, shopper learning plan, and competitive environment.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILTIES:

Build and maintain relationships with Sales, Category Management, Shopper Marketing, Brand, and retail customers through objective detailed analysis, insight development and presentation

Develop strategic retail plans and shopper based learning plans that align brand and customer objectives. Guide cross-functional team as they turn the strategies into actions.

Project Leader for national shopper and category initiatives driving actionable programs for Retail Sales, Shopper Marketing and Category Management.

Identify new business opportunities aligned to customer and Abbott Nutrition objectives based on category analytics, trends analysis, and insights understanding

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Candidates need to have advanced knowledge of shopper insights, retail landscape, assortment strategies, and merchandising tactics with the ability to identify and report findings, opportunities, and make recommendations.

Candidates should have experience working on multiple priorities across multiple customers simultaneously.

This includes experience in leading a project team of various skill levels.

Candidates must have the ability to represent Abbott and partner with/ present to the customer at multiple levels to become a trusted, reliable resource.

Candidate must have excellent communication and organizational skills.

Prefer candidates have proficient level knowledge of category management tools: Nielsen/IRI, JDA ProSpace, Excel [incl. pivot tables, macros, etc.], Access, InfoScout, BI/Data Visualization Tools) and of retailer tools (e.g., RetailLink, ExtraCare, 8451, Symphony EYC, 1010). (Not a mandatory.)
