Main Purpose of the Role

Provide engineering, utilities and maintenance support for the plant. This includes providing all utilities, facilities services and maintenance, capital project planning and execution, production maintenance, and technical support for all plant areas.

To provide short and long range capital project planning and execution. Assure proper execution of plant validation/certification requirements to reliably supply the plant with high quality utilities. These include multiple water systems, refrigeration, steam, electricity, compressed air, nitrogen, ammonia and waste water treatment systems. To manage the Plant Engineering Staff. To support all production activities and product quality through the support of plant maintenance. To assure that technical support is provided to all plant departments as needed. To manage the environmental function of the plant. To act as a liaison between the plant and functions outside the plant such as Division, Corporate, government agencies and other groups. To maintain the plant buildings and grounds, and GMP standards throughout the facility.

Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible for capital investment, utility management, equipment maintenance management, and plant technical support.

  • Provide general engineering management to achieve plant goals and objectives.

  • Responsible for engineering capital and expense budgets.

  • Manage the significant plant budget, delivering on year over year cost improvement commitments

  • Provide proper departmental staffing, training and development.

  • Develop the plant long range and short range capital plans.

  • Manage the plant environmental function execution in conjunction with EHS.

  • Represent the department and plant on regulatory matters.

  • Provide support to plant departments needing engineering assistance and maintenance assistance.

  • Develop the engineering strategic plan including the short and long range goals.

  • Manage the engineering change control system.

  • Manage contractors and vendors executing work in the facility.

  • Assure all needed engineering records and documents are properly maintained.

  • Manage the annual plant shutdown planning and coordination.

  • Maintain adequate utility supply to plant operations

  • Provide for the maintenance of all buildings and groundsEducationBS in Engineering or similar technical qualification, MBA is desirable.BackgroundMinimum 5 years - Experience in the pharmaceutical, food processing or infant formula/nutritionalproducts.Minimum 7 years - Experience in Project or Process Engineering and manufacturing maintenance. Minimum 5 years - Experience as a Manager with responsibility in engineering or manufacturing.Extensive knowledge of applicable regulatory standards and requirements for infant formula andnutritionals.
