Abbott Excellence Project Manager in Cuidad de Mexico, Mexico



How? Become an Excellence Project Manager at Abbott Mexico ,

As Excellence Project Manager Officer , you will serve as the primary partner to the business, by getting projects succeed by leading them, interacting with internal collaborators, at similar, higher or lower level within Abbott EPD Mexico and Abbott EPD LATAM. The main challenge is to reach objectives through others without direct hierarchy, with managerial team and other Divisions/Countries.

Stretch follow up and support in the execution of all projects to accomplish business strategy and all tactics of EPD Mexico, reporting directly to GM Mexico


  • Ability to act as coordinator and support to top managerial local team in order to structure, design and implement methodology to measure the progress and execution of current projects and tactics

  • Identify and conduct detailed design of strategic / transformational initiatives and projects, bringing in best practices and insights from internal and external sources (market, competition and other industries) into the project design.

  • Facilitate the resolution of issues or conflicts across the assigned project teams to remove any roadblocks

  • Geoexpansion project (50%)

  • Structure design and implement methodology to measure the progress and execution of current Geoexpansion pipeline, overseeing each project landscape, anticipating key challenges, assessing organization and function overlaps, providing strategic insights and recommendations to the GM

  • Lead and design business plans for new opportunities for Manufacturing partnership in the whole region, especially for on-going projects in Colombia and Chile. Manage for strategy, operational and financial recommendations, understanding market opportunities, supply constraints, anticipating trends and providing strategic recommendations to support the growth of the business in the region.

  • Build the Geoexpansion governance model to ensure a coherent follow-up of the projects, implement it, secure an efficient cooperation with regional functions and ensure its constant improvement and efficiency.

  • Drive the participants in the preparation and follow-up of the projects

  • Prepare materials together with the participants for business cases whenever needed to inform or get endorsement by upper management committees

  • Proactively support participants in operational activities and follow-up actions

  • Support to GM (30%)

  • Act as the coordinator and administrator in the staff committee

  • Create key materials and presentations for local, regional and global meetings. Define and develop de scope and objective of required presentations; Interact with relevant contributors to obtain de data source, create and refine the information to meet the objectives of the presentation; validate final presentations with GM

  • Create and maintain the yearly meeting schedule

  • Develop meeting agendas based upon needs and priorities and prioritize agenda items

  • Align staff members yearly priorities with consolidated action plans.

  • Establish related action plans and secure its bimonthly follow-up thanks to tools enabling efficient execution and follow-up

  • Share regular consolidated reports of advancement to staff members and other departments upon request

  • Ad-hoc projects (20%)

  • Lead special projects such as Innovation, Global, Regional Meetings/Reports, Cost to Serve, Market Model, etc.


  • The position consists in principally interacting with internal collaborators at similar, higher or lower level within Abbott EPD, as well as transversally with other Divisions/Countries. Given the main activities within the position, the main challenge is to reach objectives through others, without direct hierarchy.

  • The position will be based in Mexico and will report to General Manager EPD Mexico


To be successful in this role, you will require the following qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in top tier company in pharma / healthcare industry required

  • Strong Project Management experience

  • Prior experience in driving strategic projects and cross functional teams is a must

  • Strong ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Education. BA Degree, Legal, Administration or similar; Master’s Degree highly desirable

  • Languages: Advanced English and Spanish
