Abbott Molecular has a new opening for Clinical Operations Project Manager. With a high level of independence, this Manager will define, coordinate, integrate, and drive AMD clinical operations activities associated with product development programs throughout a product’s lifecycle. Report product development status and progress to AMD Management. Participate in and coordinate AMD strategic product direction for product segments. Serve as product line champion during the definition, planning development, launch, and post launch phases.

Core Job Responsibilities

Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.

Integrate customer need, technical capability, and business drivers to propose and drive product strategy for multiple programs. Communicate clinical program status to development teams and AMD management. Balance product cost, performance, and time to market issues in order to meet AMD goals.

Provide the forum to facilitate communications, problem solving, and goal alignment between operational and commercial organizations prior to and through product launch. Work with functional leadership to determine and ensure appropriate resource availability and assignments.

Generate, manage, and direct AMD product development launch plans for multiple programs within the division. Provide leadership and mentoring to program teams. Prioritize activities among several clinical programs to balance resource availability, program status and schedule, and business need. Work with functional leadership to anticipate and solve problems, and work to breakdown barriers across organizations involved in clinical program management. Manage regular review meetings with project teams representing R&D, Operations, Quality, Regulatory Marketing, and Commercial areas. Hold management reviews with Senior AMD management to communicate program development and schedule status. Manage products throughout their entire lifecycle, from onset through retirement. Present appropriate product development metrics to communicate status of product development. Follow an increasingly complex and evolving Design Control system throughout for product development activities.

Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.

Additional Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  • Create & manage clinical project plans

  • Coordinates and supports clinic team meetings

  • Define clinical project schedules, allocate resources and monitor progress

  • Align clinical project objectives with company goals, and make sure project team is clear on objectives

  • Track deliverables

  • Support and direct clinical team

  • Monitor and report on clinical project progress

  • Implement and manage change when necessary to meet project outputs

  • Evaluate and assess result of project

Experience and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree required; masters preferred.

  • Project management qualification (PMP) or equivalent preferred

  • IVD experience preferred, but not required.

  • Regulated industry experience is required.

  • Theoretical and practical project management knowledge

  • Knowledge of techniques and tools

  • 5+ Years experience as a clinical project/program manager

  • Experience in strategic planning, risk management and/or change management

  • Successful track record of managing highly complex projects.

  • Proficiency in project management software tools

  • Critical thinking and problem solving

  • Excellent decision-making and leadership capabilities

  • Conflict resolution experience

  • Adaptability

  • Able to tolerate stress
