In Ireland, Abbott has five business units, represented across eight manufacturing sites. The Abbott Diabetes Care division based in Donegal Town manufactures FreeStyle blood glucose test strips for use in diabetes management. Among Abbott Diabetes Care leading brands are the FreeStyle Precision, FreeStyle Lite and FreeStyle Libre system.
In this role you will be responsible for:
Managing the cost and time constraints of projects.
Work with external equipment vendors in the selection, design & development of new (or upgrades to existing) equipment.
Introduction of new equipment through development lifecycle from User Requirements Specification and Functional Requirement Specification through to Design Qualification.
Support the installation, characterisation and validation of new equipment through the creation of SOPs and execution of IQ/OQ/PQ protocols to meet regulatory requirements.
Support the development and execution of engineering trials and characterisation studies to allow the optimization and troubleshooting of processes and equipment.
Ensure Health and Safety Regulations and Procedure are adhered to at all times for self and others.
Maintain a high level of customer focus to ensure delivery of business goals.
Experience in the design, commissioning and installation of manufacturing equipment.
Experience in troubleshooting of production systems in a manufacturing/engineering environment.
Science or Engineering degree with experience in Process/Control Engineering
