Abbott Established Pharmaceutical Division (EPD) is looking for a Formulation Scientist (m/f/d)
based in Hannover, Germany
Plan, execute, evaluate and report independently experimental formulation studies in the field of drug product development and pharmaceutical technology for process development/ optimization, scale up, and technology transfer of the manufacturing process to the respective international production siteunder the supervision of the laboratory manager
Perform physicochemical characterizations of formulations and their startingmaterials
Write and review study plans, statistical experimental designs, process memos and scientific reports self-organized in support of the laboratory manager and working in projects in German and English. Evaluate, report and present experimental results under the guidance of the laboratory manager
Execute and safeguard the manufacturing of material for regulatory relevant studies (e.g. stability studies, clinical trials) in a cGMP-conform and timely manner when required, in lab-, pilot- and commercial scale
Execute studies in accordance to regulations and procedures in a GMP regulated environment
Support infrastructural activities incl. checks and maintenance of qualified equipment and GMP-pilot plant. Support GMP audits
Represent the department project-related in global project teams
Proactively and cooperatively communicate with lab manager and peers, and communicate by proactively keeping them informed of results, of obvious and subtle problems and of likely potential problems, alternatives and their potential consequences
Proactively solve simple problems through job knowledge and use of technical resources and make recommendations in order to reduce current or future problems
At least scientist with bachelor degree or comparable degree
Advanced knowledge and industrial or research experience in the field of pharmaceutical process technology with strong background in formulation development in the field of solid dosage forms, ideally also of liquid dosage forms
Working experience within pharmaceutical industry, several years in generic development necessary
Theoretical and practical knowledge and experience in the field of biologicals and in further formulation technologies, e.g. injectables, inhalers, would be a plus
Experienced in working with complexly automated pharmaceutical (analytical) equipment.
Advanced German and English language skills
Highly developed problem solving skills. Scientific report writing skills. Good organizational skills. Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
Experience in working in a GMP environment and respective knowledge of compliance regulations
The ability to be flexible in an ever changing and challenging international environment
Ability to work in a team and flexibility for short-term travels to production sites outside of Europe
Knowledge of regulatory issues involved in CMC would be a plus
