Abbott Head of Finance Accouting in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam


1, Summary:

  • Reporting to: Finance Director (Customer Finance Services)

  • Subordinate: 5 staffs

  • Working location: 18 Luy Ban Bich Street, Tan Thoi Hoa Ward, Tan Phu Dist., HCM.

2, Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the Financial accounting, reporting and analysis, including month-end, quarter -end and annual cycle activities, that are to be completed timely and in compliance with Abbott's financial policies and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the periodical preparation of reporting packages to Corporate Finance.

  • Support financial planning and analysis, including support of Plans and Latest Best Estimates (“LBE”) for the responsible entity.

  • Responsible for the Entity Plan as part of the Abbott Annual Planning process - Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement, P&L, Deferred Tax & Income Tax Statements.

  • Drive and enhance the spend reporting in line with ANI Vietnam’s LBE & Plan commitment.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to financial operations in the entity including maintaining integrity of financials, compliance with Affiliate’s internal financial policies, understand and interpretation of the Corporate Financial Manual (CFM's).

  • Oversight business E2E (End-to-End) processes from financial point of view including (but not limited to):

  • Order to Cash

  • Trade spend control

  • Source to pay

  • Treasury and tax

  • Record to report

  • Internal control

  • Establishes and enforces internal controls safeguarding Abbott's financial interest and providing guidance and counsel to operating and financial staff. Playing the role of key contact point in the interaction with Corporate Audit and the SOX PMO as well as driving the implementation of audit’s observation and recommendation within the agreed timeline.

  • Partner with the Affiliate FD to lead the finance transformation projects including current as-is assessment, design process maps, infrastructure enhance and readiness, run organization diagnostics, process and people change management and communications with stakeholders to ensure the success of the project through smooth transition, performance management and continuous business support.

  • Partner with

  • the IT group in developing new finance initiatives to enhance controls and efficiencies on financial processes and systems.

  • Treasury Manager to develop and implement credit and collection policies per the Group policies and monitor implementation.

  • Tax manager in developing tax strategies for the entity and be responsible for interactions with government authorities in dealing with statutory compliance matters.

  • Key member in the ANI VN Finance Leadership Team that will actively participate in organizational development discussions and activities that includes people development, hiring, training and managing team performance.


Work Experience :

  • Experience: Eight plus years of accounting finance and/or other relevant experience within international environment with the responsibilities to manage governmental and statutory compliance matters.

  • Strong leadership with proven track record to team management is strongly preferred to be successful in this position.

Core Skill Requirement:

  • Strong verbal/communication skills with all levels of managements along with the ability to collaborate negotiate and build consensus. Ability to work in a fast paced environment while handling multiple priorities.

  • Good understanding of US GAAP financial policies, Sarbanes/Oxley controls, and general/ international accounting are necessary for success.

  • Internal control or audit experience is a value-add to the position.

  • Project management skills by acting as a project lead.

  • Fluent in Vietnamese in order to effectively communicate with the local team is critical.

  • SAP or other enterprise systems experience.

  • Process excellence experience.

  • B.A. in Accounting, Finance or similar subject area or equivalent work experience. MBA or other advanced degrees preferred. CPA or other certifications also preferred.
