Primary Job Function:
The US Automation Service Trainer will have responsibilities for both classroom and field-based automation service training. The Automation Service Trainer will be the US Subject Matter expert and will lead technical interactions and service activities during the track implementation and Go-Live Process. The Automation Service Trainer should be able to lead and complete complex service installation and troubleshooting procedures for ADD Automation Solutions. This trainer will lead coaching and mentoring interactions between Automation Service Professionals and customers as needed. The Automation Service Trainer has the ability to understand the broader Abbott Solution including instruments, informatics and automation. This trainer has the ability to communicate and perform intermediate level functions across all three areas - instruments, informatics and automation.
Core Job Responsibilities:
Delivers product and skill training for customers and employees
Creates automation training strategy and plan to support customer and/or employee training including front-of classroom and field observation activities
Acts as resource for new employees on automation training topics
Leads automation consultation activities at customer site
Lead field-based technical interactions and service activities on automation products as a part of the broader Abbott solution (automation, instruments and informatics)
Provides and incorporates feedback to continually improve effectiveness of training program and training resources
Ability to perform intermediate level activities on instruments and informatics systems
Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system
This position has training responsibility for customer and employee automation training within the Area. It includes oversight of employee performance during new hire training.
-4 year Bachelor’s Degree preferred and/or relevant experience demonstrating the equivalent skills.
-Minimum 2 years of related automation service and field service experience
-Automation or Service Training experience preferred
-Medical Technologist or Engineering experience a plus
Preferred Skills: The ideal candidate is able to understand the Total Abbott Diagnostics solution including Systems, Informatics and Automation.
-Extensive technical knowledge of Abbott instrument, automation and informatics solutions
-Effective written and spoken communication skills
-Understanding of adult learning principles and theories
-Ability to present to a variety of groups - ranging from employees to high level customer leaders
-Employee will have a demonstrated, proven track record of driving for results
-Professional demeanor in challenging and complex situations
