Summary

Hi! I’m Tik, one of the Engineering Managers in the Automation and Informatics organization in charge of system testing and engineering technicians. You may be asking yourself, what is Automation and Informatics? Well, my group tests and supports our laboratory automation track systems with several modules and analyzers connected that will automatically route sample tubes to their desired locations. The informatics part comes in with the upper middleware which communicates tests ordered to the track software and sends results to the hospital laboratory informatics system.

I am looking for a motivated Engineering Technician that will support the laboratory activities required for projects. This requires knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatics, and fluidics systems to troubleshoot and resolve issues. On occasion, you may have to program boards when a new firmware is received or install new modules to the track. Also, there are general lab duties that are expected to be performed everyday such as analyzer / track maintenance, DI Water maintenance, owning the department’s calibrated equipment, and keeping the labs organized. Must document all changes and maintenance per our procedures. A strong team player is desired as this position will need to work with other areas of our department as well as other departments such as R&D and Global Service.
