Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.

Oversee and manage one or more departments within a functional area. Provide direct management and counsel to staff to ensure goals are

met. Set technical strategy for service for product families and translate strategy into specific actions. Work with Global directors on country

strategies within given product platforms. Establish goals and ensure projects completed on time and within budget.

Job Responsibilities:

Responsible forimplementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.

In addition to managing a global service and support platform team; this roles is responsible as a senior manager responsible for strategic

initiatives regarding technical service support; escalation and training. Manage projects; leads high impact or strategically important projects;

assures project leadership is assigned to appropriate resource; mentoring peers within organization. Work with directors and service

management teams to establish a highly functioning service and support team to address global escalation; training and support; and to

facilitate countries ability to move to highly effective service teams.

Regularly makes decisions that impact quality; time or cost; makes timely decisions. Help coach new managers in global escalation


Provide an environment to grow team's technical expertise and to guidance: Lead team in analyzing data from a variety of sources to

determine true causes of problems; develop plans to resolve; anticipate; and avoid them. Develop short term options to deal with crises and

solve the problem; reviews actions taken and their outcomes; assess outcomes and approve actions required to avoid problems in the future;

oversee policy and procedure changes required to avoid reoccurrence of the situation. Extrapolate solutions to novel incidents from

unrelated precedents; resolve ambiguity; create an organization capable of responding to new situations and able to modify its course in

response to new input. Lead the execution of the strategic alternatives adopted by the function.

Work with area directors to develop strategic alternatives and communicate strategic direction to department. Hold Area Directors

accountable in completing mandatory service actions.

Execute escalation site visits globally; publish lessons learned from global escalation site visits or other learnings.

Ensure Core Global Service; Manufacturing; QA & BU strategies are consistent with and advance long term business goals. Ensure that

activities and projects support the long term quality strategy; contribute to the organization and business strategies.

Translate customer needs into product and process requirements; review process and product designs to ensure that customer satisfaction

and establish programs to address those issues and prevent defects.

Develop financial plans for area of responsibility. Lead peers in establishing and justifying retrofit budget to present plans for approval.

Accountable for budget and financial results and project milestones achievement. Consolidate budgets; do contingency planning. Negotiate

resources and budgets; consolidate and rationalize budget needs. Identify and present needs for capital; facilities; and product and process


Manage human resources: set performance goals; monitor and review performance; recommend staffing levels; provide input into

succession planning; administer salary budget. Monitor performance across service areas and identify plans to improve technical

proficiency. Level load resources with consultation; manage multiple teams; negotiate additional resources.

Accountability/ Scope:

Partner with organization's upper management to lead organization and represent the function to other areas of the company and outside the


Ensure compliance to regulatory requirements; understand and apply GMP; understand quality and procedures and provide resources for

compliance (i.e. training).

Identify and implement cost reductions.

Accountable for budget/ financial responsibility for spending; cost improvements and variances; manages within prescribed budget


Oversee and coordinate multiple shift operations.

Resolve or raise issues to the appropriate level for resolution.

Minimum Education:

Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting IVDs or Biologics.

BS or equivalent and 8+ years related experience. Previous management experience in a global or country service or support related

position is required. Requires experience using financial information to make decisions and using standard analytical tools to support

decision making; experience in a regulated environment. Technical experience in electrical or mechanical engineering; clinical laboratory

science preferred.

Minimum Experience:

Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting IVDs or Biologics
