The Abbott portfolio of structural heart solutions has expanded significantly in recent years. We feature products to treat the broad spectrum of structural heart disease (SHD)—encompassing both congenital heart defects and acquired conditions, such as valvular heart disease.
With the development of this organization, we are currently creating a pipeline for a Medical Affairs Manager in Structural Heart(SH) to work in the French market.
Reporting to the Global Medical Affairs Director, the newly created position in our organization will respond to the scientific needs in Structural Heart interventions, including the needs from key thought leaders and medical societies in France. He/she will act as internal scientific expert of product and disease environment and oversee scientific communication and product safety in the affiliate.
Specifically, this person will:
Therapy growth through expanded and strengthened scientific relations.
Scientific excellence in valvular heart disease and structural heart disease at large (including heart defects)
Be the point of contact between Abbott SH and physicians about medical aspects (benefit-risk profile, clinical evidence, therapy value) of our therapies and products.
Establish relations, collaboration with external medical stakeholders such as KOLs, medical societies and associations.
Develop the scientific aspects and adoption of new therapies such as TriClip and Tendyne
Coordinate strategic medical plans and execute in alignment with business needs
Manages unsolicited requests from HCPs (medical questions, off-label use, study requests)
Drive and own the scientific content of symposia, KOL events, expert meetings and medical forums
Support medical education and commercial training programs as needed
Review and take responsibility for patient safety issues
Responsible for the medical review of A&P material
Ensure full compliance and execution of procedures.
Who are you?
Good knowledge of structural heart disease, preferably valve disease or more generally in cardiology
Customer focused – ability to build and maintain customer relationships (KOLs, medical societies…)
Scientific analytical skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Confident people-oriented person to interact peer to peer with physicians
Mastering complexity and ability to think outside of the box
Results and performance driven
Good project management skills
Fluent in English (verbal and written) and French
Advanced knowledge of clinical trial methodology
Understanding of the value of the Medical Affairs function and its contribution to other internal and external stakeholders
Experience in cardiovascular disease
Oral presentation skills
