Abbott Informatics Technical Specialist - LIS in Istanbul, Turkey

The Informatics Technical Specialist (ITS) primary job function is to serve as the subject matter expert for the installation; integration; verification; and support of ADD’s Alinity pre-installation. The implementation strategy includes pre-implementation planning and preparation; software installation; connectivity; verification testing; customer training; and technical support. Activities may be performed by phone or on site and requires coordination with Abbott project managers and customer LIS; IT; and laboratory staff.


  • The resource will apply their technical IT and networking knowledge to analyze user needs; gather customer requirements; design an integrated; scalable; and comprehensive informatics solutions to improve the automation and informatics solutions for clinical diagnostic healthcare customers.

  • Serve as the informatics applications expert for the field service organization to provide enhanced support as need to address customer needs.

  • As the application expert, this role will serve as the communication link between the field service organization and direct customers to the global support organization where necessary.

  • Collaborate and partner with the marketing organizations for new product identification; strategy and development that will provide solutions beyond the competition to establish ADD as the elite automation and informatics solutions partner.


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science; information systems; medical technology; or related field. Masters degree a plus.

  • Any education in medical laboratory technology along with formal degree in IT/MIS is an ideal combination for this position.


  • Minimum of 8-10 years’ systems/instrument software integration and support experience

  • 5 years in the Healthcare IT field.

  • Preferably 2 years’ track record in Healthcare with an emphasis on customer facing post-sales IT support

  • Preferably proven track record in a similar position supported by management and customer references

  • Strong leadership skills

  • Excellent IT functional expertise, IT product and industry knowledge in Laboratory Medicine

  • Good relationship building skills

  • Service-driven, commercially-minded

  • Must be team orientated, analytical, highly organized

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills

  • Ability to identify and drive resolution of issues, excellent problem solving skills

  • Willingness to work in cross-functional teams

  • Candidates must be fluent in English
