This is an exciting opportunity to join Abbott's Global Marketing team in Lake Forest, IL!

In this role, you will support the global marketing team and manage the administrative functions of the department which includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • Organize and schedule onsite and offsite meetings, room reservations, video conferencing, and tele-conference calls, catering for meetings/events.

  • Create and execute expense reports.

  • Manage procurement to include vendor set up, SOWs, POs invoicing.

  • Manage calendars, including meeting and travel scheduling and domestic and international travel arrangements.

  • May include customer travel logistics and payment support.

  • Manage departmental logistics: distribute mail, produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, distribution lists, organizational charts, orders office supplies and calendar.

  • Answering phones and acting as department lead and point of contact to assist management

  • Coordinating new employee office set up and onboarding. May train/coordinate work for new administrative assistants.

  • Use and understand Microsoft Office Suite and other business-specific software, including the Corporate Travel Web site, and employee performance management systems (as applicable).

  • Working on assigned projects.


  • High School Diploma/GED

  • Some college preferred

  • Superior attention to detail

  • High technical proficiency including MS office

  • 1+ years of administrative assistant support experience

  • Strong planning and problem-solving skills

  • Self-motivated, with excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Ability to prioritize work

  • Highly collaborative with the ability to work well in an individual and team environment

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest degree of discretion and confidentiality

  • Bilingual preferred
