Summary:

Ability to execute highly complex or specialized projects supporting Global Supply Chain and Commercial Affiliates. Adapts precedent and may make significant departures from traditional approaches to develop solutions. Responsible for maximizing the effectiveness of the organization's supply chain by identifying opportunities to improve service and reduce the cost of delivering product to customers. Operates with minimal supervision; reviews are held with manager to monitor progress against plans; goals and objectives.

Primary Job Function:

Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.

Provide the logistics/distribution/transportation/supply chain information; analyses; and systems knowledge necessary to determine the most efficient and effective worldwide distribution and transportation patterns. Execute monthly Integrated Business Planning process for VP of Global Supply Chain. Primary contact for Division’s business continuity planning process.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for identifying improvements in the logistic processes, such as investigating existing supply chains and defining optimal transportation routes, etc.

  • Activities may include analysis, planning and forecasting in the areas of warehousing, and transportation and distribution.

  • Identify projects; perform data research; review and analyze findings; make recommendations; present findings; implement approved recommendation for identified commercial affiliate locations

  • Manage service providers as identified (e.g. participate in QBR’s, resolve performance related issues, identify productivity opportunities and monitor performance)

  • Coordinate monthly GSC IBP process and support analysis and submission of data going to Operations VP

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree required: BA or BS in Supply Chain or Logistics preferred

Experience Requirements:

3-5 years’ experience in Supply Chain or logistics functions is preferred. Experience may include manufacturing or distribution environment; experience with financial modeling and analysis; knowledge of materials and inventory computer systems; thorough understanding of Abbott planning / inventory management or distribution systems; demonstrated project leadership; transportation supplier experience; exposure to international affiliate operations and their needs and regulations.

Additional Skills/Abilities:

Strong written and verbal communication skills (to Executive Management and multiple global affiliates)

Must possess strong analytical skills with accuracy and attention to detail

Problem solving, decision making, critical thinking, and negotiations skills

Ability to set priorities, achieve deadlines, and manage multiple tasks at the same time
