We are seeking an experienced, high caliber and self-motivated Test Engineer for our electrical test engineering group. Core responsibilities include design, develop and maintain Automated Test Equipment for the production of medical devices.
This position requires application of engineering and scientific principles to the evaluation and solution of technical problems and use of technical judgment in planning, organizing, performing, coordinating and/or directing engineering work.
Designs, develops, implements, and maintains Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) including integrating hardware and developing software for the production environment.
Maintains existing software. Installs changes as necessary to provide testing for updates to existing product designs.
Updates all documentation to support changes including: equipment/software specifications and production/engineering instructions.
Performs software and hardware validation including: functional test systems, fixtures and software changes.
Generates detailed project plans and timelines.
Trouble shoot electronic circuit boards to the component level using schematic diagrams, benchtop instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters and programmable power supplies.
Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.
Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.
B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred), Computer Science or related engineering field with a focus on electronic and system engineering.
Minimum 2 years hands-on experience in test engineering.
Experience in LabVIEW programming within an engineering environment. LabVIEW certification is desired.
Experience with programming measurement instrumentation.
Experience with National Instruments hardware, oscilloscopes, data acquisition and programmable power supplies.
Experience with SQL scripting and data mining.
"C" programming or similar programming languages.
Experience with software documentation (e.g. software requirements, test plans, etc.).
Experience with hardware documentation (e.g. Hardware/system requirements, test plans, etc.).
Experience in medical device or other regulated environment preferred.
Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
