We now have an exciting opportunity for an EMEA Logistics Procurement Manager to join our team based at Maidenhead, UK.

The EMEA Logistics Procurement Manager will develop and manage the region’s road logistics category under direction of Global Category Sr. Manager. Whether this be establishing and maintain an understanding of the freight/transportation marketplace, rationalizing and optimizing freight lanes within EMEA region, establishing and managing the data flow with suppliers, implementing and improving cost standards, or developing and managing relationships with existing and future suppliers, you will take the lead on category activities across all Abbott divisions.

You will continually look for opportunities for cost improvements, and the optimisation of freight spend in the region. You will also focus on expanding road freight capability beyond traditional logistics into other touchpoints on the supply chain. You will seek alignment of activities across each country within region, and work towards establishing best practice with bid reviews conducted as required.

The successful candidate will be Degree qualified, ideally within a Business or Supply Chain speciality, and ideally be CIPS qualified, although this is not essential. You will bring a breadth of experience across freight, logistics, transportation and intermodal procurement, preferably gained within a manufacturing or distribution environment. You will have worked on an EMEA-wide basis, and preference will be given to candidate with exposure of both operational and procurement activities.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter/results focused who brings strong project management skills, and proven experience of driving activities to completion. You will be process orientated, with strong analytical skills and problem solving capabilities She/he is expected to build effective relationships with colleagues and other functional teams, with excellent interdisciplinary, intercultural, influence, negotiation and networking skills.

This position is located in Maidenhead in the UK, and will involve travel within the EMEA region (circa 30% of your time). Occasional travel outside the region is also envisioned.
