An exciting strategic leadership opportunity for a commercial Head of Business Development , responsible for leading the development and implementation of the Abbott Nutrition contract strategy. The successful candidate will lead the implementation of new contractual models throughout the UK as agreed.
In conjunction with the Contracts & Business Development Director, you will develop a UK contracting strategy and implement effectively, ensuring the development of detailed targeting plans capturing the opportunity presented by each and every contract, enhancing the overall success rate whilst ensuring business/financial goals are achieved. As the Head of Business Development, you will also develop an engagement strategy with all significant NHS procurement authorities undertaking enteral feed contracts throughout England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, and be responsible for the creation, implementation and progress tracking of win plans for all Abbott and target competitor contracts. You must be able to liaise effectively with, and influence, all key stakeholders within Abbott Nutrition, regarding significant contractual and procurement considerations, proposing strategies to develop business opportunities. National monitoring of contracts to ensure compliance with contractual agreements, identifying and implementing tools to monitor contract profitability and to identify methods to improve profitability wherever appropriate. You will also be required to support trouble-shooting of major issues within key accounts as required and identify improvements to help mitigate/resolve these issues.
The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level, experienced in key account/contract management, preferably with enteral nutrition market experience. We would expect candidates to have experience working in a contracting environment governed by EU procurement regulation and to be an effective communicator with a demonstrable track record of building effective working relationships with, and influencing, a broad range of cross-functional stakeholders. An ability to plan effectively and manage complex projects whilst dealing with conflicting priorities efficiently is required. Candidates will also need to demonstrate an ability to assimilate complex information quickly, to identify trends, obstacles and commercial opportunities that will benefit ANI.
This role will be predominantly office based at our UK head office in Maidenhead but will involve travel to locations throughout the UK.
