Abbott’s Nutrition team are recruiting for an experience Team Leader for their Hospital2Home team, based in Maidenhead.
Main responsibilities include:
To lead and manage the Maidenhead Hospital2Home team ensuring appropriate supervision, training and development is provided for all staff to achieve defined service standards and productivity, ensuring minimum targets of performance are achieved by each individual.
To manage and develop staff effectively, train and guide them. Promote staff development, seeking and creating opportunities, helping staff take action on their developmental needs and setting challenging goals.
To evaluate staff effectiveness through regular appraisals and taking opportunities to provide constructive formal and informal feedback on their performance.
To allocate workload within the team.
and coordinate working hours with colleague Team Leader to ensure all office working hours have an on-site Team Leader available for escalation and issue resolution, and that go-to escalation for out of hours issues is shared.
To work in a helpful and approachable manner as a lead member of the team to ensure overall performance targets are met. To make a positive contribution to own and other team decisions and plans, and to respect commitment to team decisions. To promote team spirit, co-operation and morale, within and across teams. To encourage and support team members, respecting the views, values and opinions of others.
To cope with varying demands and be flexible and adaptable, able to work well in a variety of teams and situations, including potentially supporting the other site (Maidenhead or Sittingbourne) operation or when staff need to work from home.
To plan ahead to deliver business goals. To anticipate and introduce change effectively.
To effectively handle specialist or escalated calls from patients, carers or healthcare professionals, ensuring they are satisfactorily resolved.
To make appropriate decisions from a range of options, ensuring that they are made without bias, prejudice or discrimination. To accurately identify problems and generate solutions, presenting balanced views and drawing reasoned conclusions.
To act as the advocate and champion of Hospital2Home. To work effectively with external patients, carers and healthcare professionals to ensure that there is a smooth transition of care from Hospital2Home. To respect the confidential or sensitive nature of customer enquiries, and handle difficult situations appropriately.
To actively participate in developing the service and technical requirements of future delivery, including development of technical tools, and to make reasoned suggestions to improve customer service and technical procedures.
To actively participate in training and development opportunities, keeping abreast of customer service and technical developments.
To assist in ensuring the implementation of Abbott's policies in relation to data compliance, control and integrity of information and safe working practices.
The ideal candidate will possess relevant professional experience, in a team management role, preferably from within healthcare or as a customer service provider. We require candidates to be experienced people-managers, with a history of successful performance management, coaching and workforce planning. Strong communication skills are essential, including presenting. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate working with some autonomy, using initiative to effectively resolve problems, prioritising workload to meet tight deadline in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
