Primary Job Function
Develops and implements marketing strategies for Russia, CIS and Eastern Europe, including the development of marketing plans and activities that drive the flow of products to our distributors and customers, in a manner that highlights differentiation and value.
Key focus for the role is the effective management of the product portfolio and coordination of effort and resources to achieve the sales plan.
Work is reviewed in terms of meeting the organization's objectives and timelines.
The Marketing Manager is responsible for the product, from identification of customer and market needs/wants, to input on product development, product launch, through and including product discontinuation.
Core Job Responsibilities
·Developing marketing strategies and plans. The Marketing Manager is responsible for creating regional demand for his/her product in a customer-centric manner (exemplified by high satisfaction of needs, and therefore appropriately differentiated and adding value) by developing and overseeing execution of the regional marketing plan. This includes definition and segmentation of the market, targeting and positioning, and all aspects of the marketing mix (product, place, price, and integrated marketing/promotion).
·Works closely with our distribution partners to align and execute marketing strategies and tactics.
·Analyze market data including competitive activity and regulatory requirements and alter strategies as necessary to inform marketing planning and business strategies and decisions.
·Develops plan to market product through promotional campaigns, utilizing the full marketing mix as appropriate. Working alongside sales management and sales team to ensure campaigns are developed appropriately and delivered effectively.
·Promotional tool creation: provide commercial organizations with core promotional and scientific literature, sales aids, and support materials to help them exceed their sales plan.
·Undertaking complete analysis of the effectiveness of strategy and monitors implementation and execution.
·Propose an annual expense budget and manage within subsequent plan.
·Full budgetary responsibility for ensuring promotional campaigns are within agreed spending limits.
·Business expansion: Participate in strategic planning initiatives including long range plan to ensure profitable growth opportunities are supported, and present to senior management if needed
·Liaising with Regional, and Global marketing teams, as well as Medical and Clinical Affairs as appropriate.
·Liaising with other Abbott divisions where appropriate.
·Ensures all promotional activities, progress reports, updates etc., are delivered on time to a high standard.
·Provides all relevant information required for plan and update reviews.
·Delivering all strategic and impact goals (financial and key projects)
·Liaising closely with all support functions (including Regulatory, Customer Services and Manufacturing).
·Driving Sales and Marketing Excellence in division. Collaboration with Commercial Excellence and Finance to drive for forecasting accuracy.
·Identify and champion new strategies that drive additional sales.
·Liaise with key opinion leaders and industry groups to further business aims.
·Internal communication: Work in close partnership with Global Marketing, Commercial Excellence, Medical affairs, and Sales Managers. Regularly interface with Sales organization, proactively communicating and coordinating efforts, e.g. commercial studies, internal meetings, symposiums, customer meetings and trade shows aimed at growing sales and profitability.
·External communication: Interface with consultants, marketing research firms, ad agencies, other vendors and customers to effectively manage and grow business while maintaining a customer focus woven throughout all activities. Identify and develop relationships with key opinion leaders.
·Make difficult decisions and drive for results.
·Liaise with corporate and government affairs as needed and ensure quality and regulatory compliance.
Position Accountability / Scope
Marketing responsibility for Russia, CIS and Eastern Europe, lead, motivate and drive strategy and activities of the marketing team to ensure delivery of all identified financial metrics. Key responsible and contact person for all issues related to corporate, government affairs and regulatory compliance. Align business strategy with global marketing strategy.
Degree in business, marketing, technical or science discipline.
(minimum 8 years in area of discipline). Masters & above degree preferred.
Minimum Experience/Training Required
·At least 5-8 years commercial experience (Marketing or Sales); preferable in Medical Device / Diagnostic business with a desirable understanding of Clinical Biology or Laboratory Medicine.
·Strong experience in Point of Care business and European product management
·Very strong leadership skills, leadership experience
