The Commercial Director, Region Nordics & Benelux serves as a senior member of the ADC Nordics & Benelux leadership team, providing strategic leadership at regional and xountry level. The Commercial Director works closely with ADC Nordics & Benelux leadership team to set vision and strategy and lead execution to deliver sales, margin and market share.

Strategy and Business Development

  • Work collaboratively across ADC Nordics & Benelux to strengthen the Division’s strategic growth agenda and ensure Country alignment with strategic priorities

  • Lead the annual ADC Nordics & Benelux strategic planning process; generate new ideas on how to create growth and value for ADC

  • Act as a point of contact for strategic initiatives within ADC Nordics & Benelux, providing advice, leadership, and/or support, as required (e.g., Gross Margin Improvement, Marketing Mix Optimization, Sales Force Alignment/Expansion, et al.)

  • Act as a strategic “think tank” for Senior Management on key business issues and business development opportunities (ex. co-promotions with other manufacturers, partnerships with professional organizations)

  • Lead and drive partnership projects with identified projects partners across industries in the market space

Commercial Operations

  • Work with Countries to develop/enhance and deploy strategies, processes and systems to support commercial success, focusing on base business (e.g., sales force targeting, sales force incentive compensation, sales force size/alignment, promotional resource optimization, pricing framework)

  • Conduct periodic business reviews with the Countries to identify and address business issues and opportunities, and to ensure progress toward business objectives

  • Drive the forecasting process (e.g., Sales & Operations Planning, Rolling 6Q LBE) for ADC Nordics & Benelux in conjunction with the Countries, Finance and Demand Planning

  • Work and be a team member at SIT .Mentor and create best in class sales management within ADC Nordics & Benelux

Business Analytics and Market Intelligence

  • Lead the monitoring of the external environment, identifying strategic opportunities and competitive threats in Nordics & Benelux and proactively planning for potential impact on ADC’s business (e.g., translate opportunities into action; propose actions to neutralize threats)

  • Identify key business questions/issues, formulate hypotheses, collect qualitative and quantitative data necessary to evaluate the hypotheses, perform analysis and summarize conclusions/ recommendations with minimal guidance

  • Partner with Global Market Research to define research priorities that will yield actionable insights that help shape strategic direction

  • Perform complex business and financial analysis (e.g., customer segmentation, marketing ROI, customer promotion responsiveness, etc.) that yields actionable insights that increase market share, sales and margin

  • Develop and optimize appropriate performance metrics and dashboards; produce monthly ADC Nordics & Benelux KPI Dashboard

Product Portfolio Management

  • Define and manage ADC Nordics & Benelux Product Portfolio Roadmap

  • Liaise with Global Strategic Marketing to represent product-related needs of ADC Nordics & Benelux

  • Lead the development of product launch strategies; partner with ADC Nordics & Benelux


  • Supervise and mentor staff, proactively supporting their professional development

  • Engage and manage external consultancies and agencies as appropriate

  • Participate in sales meetings, training and industry trade shows

Qualifications/ Experience:

  • Bachelor or Master degree with a profound understanding of the Medical Device/ Life Science Industry

  • Proven leader with five or more years in the pharmaceutical and/or medical device industry covering both commercial strategy and commercial operations

  • High-energy, self-starter that is assertive, possesses a high degree of self-confidence and intellectual curiosity, exhibits a bias for action, demonstrates good executive presence, and has a high degree of commitment to meeting deadlines and objectives

  • Outstanding strategic planning and analytical skills—proven ability to identify/define business questions and issues, synthesize information from multiple sources, conduct analysis, formulate actionable recommendations and confidently recommend a point-of-view to senior management

  • Innovative and creative—demonstrated ability to leverage consumer insights to identify and evaluate creative ideas, focusing on those that will create sustainable competitive advantage

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to build strong, collaborative working relationships with all levels of management, the sales force and customers

  • Strong project management skills, with proven ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently under aggressive timelines in a dynamic environment while maintaining strong attention to detail and quick recall

  • Strong knowledge of accounting, finance and statistics concepts (i.e., ROI, P&L)

  • Advanced knowledge of and experience using Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel

  • Fluent in English and Norwegian and preferably a third language (Swedish, Finnish, Dutch, Danish, French)
